Appreciation of the Original Text and Translation of Li Bai's Ode to a Bie in Jiangxia
Translation and Notes of Jiang Xia's Farewell to Song Dynasty The water in Chu is crystal clear, as if it were empty and directly connected with the distant sea. You and I will be far apart, but our interests are in the same glass of wine. When the sun is shining, the birds in the valley are still singing, but at night, the apes on the river bank will cry. I have never cried in my life, but now I can't stop crying.
Note 1 Jiangxia: Wuchang, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Song: He is the younger brother of Song, a famous poet in the early Tang Dynasty, and a friend of Li Bai. 2 Chu River: refers to a long river after the Han River flows in. Will: And. Valley bird: a bird in the mountains or water.
Jiangxia appreciates the Song Dynasty, and the first couplet "If the Chu River is empty, it will connect with the blue sea remotely", which means that the Qinghe River in front of you is connected with the blue sea remotely. If it's empty, it's extremely clear. Li Bai's other works, Moonlight on the River is Still Empty (the first one, Looking at the Two Waterfalls on Lushan Mountain) and Jade Pot with Fine Wine as Clear as Empty (there was a restaurant in front of it), also mean this. Song's relegation is close to the sea, so the next sentence hints at where he will go.
Zhuan Xu said: "People are thousands of miles away, but they are happy within a cup." This is the difference that the other party will come back to him. The difference of thousands of miles is sad. Here, it is not "sadness" but "joy". Using "a cup" to compare "a thousand miles" not only shows the unrestrained and free-spirited style, but also contains helpless emotions. These two sentences are similar to those in the early Tang Dynasty. He thinks that "I was born thousands of miles away and hated a glass of wine" ("Not Joining the Army with Cai") and "I was born thousands of miles away and worried about a glass of wine" ("Sent to Anxi"). I hold heavy punishment, and Li Bai holds heavy punishment, which is what seems to be different. You can't copy the theory, and you can't judge the pros and cons. Poets are inevitably different because of their luck or accidental similarity. People are thousands of miles away, but friendship is in this shallow glass of wine. Less wine, friendship is not light at all. For a person, it is not only wine, but also profound friendship. Li Bai's poems vividly show these things, which are delicious and chewy.
Necklace couplet "Birds in the valley sing sunny days, apes in the river whistle in the evening breeze", and the last paragraph lists the weather when going away. The weather is fine, but the author is not happy at all, but the beautiful scenery reflects the author's inner sadness and can impress readers more. The next sentence is about the howling of river apes. The cry of the river ape is very sad. When the author left his friend, it was even more heartbreaking to hear this voice. Through the description of the scenery, the author perfectly expressed his heart's reluctance to his friends. The first and second couplets, from near to far, from far to near, are open and closed. Neck ties describe the prospect, from "sunny days" to "evening breeze", and imply the passage of time with scene changes, which is also a big success. The feeling of parting is self-evident This is the so-called accident. The music scene written in the previous sentence echoes the word "xing" in the couplet. Write a sad scene in the next sentence to trigger the lyricism of couplets.
William: "I have never shed tears in my life, so I cry endlessly here." The outbreak of true feelings, steep rise and fall, left great imagination space for readers. The poet was so emotional, probably out of sympathy for Song Zhi in his later years. The "bird singing" and "ape whistling" on the necklace seem to contain metaphors of the Song family's distinguished official career and the sadness of the old country. Although the poet is still young, after all, he has experienced some ups and downs in life, and the experience of the Song family may cause his own feeling that his ambition is hard to be rewarded.
An important feature of this poem's artistic conception is its great leap, which can be clearly seen from the turning point of the previous three sentences. From the poetic sense, the first three are vigorous and powerful, and the tone is heroic; When the tail is folded, it is sad and heavy. It is this jumping ups and downs that makes this poem endless and wonderful.
The writing background of Jiangxia's poem Farewell to Song Dynasty is considered as the 20th year of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty (734). Yu Xianhao once wrote this poem "Doubtful Year", which proves that Song Zhiti is Song's younger brother and Song Ruosi's father. According to the life story of Song Zhiti, this poem was written around the twentieth century of Kaiyuan. During the Kaiyuan period, Song successively served as general You Yulin, chief minister of Yizhou, our envoy of Jiannan, and Yin of Taiyuan, and was later demoted to Jiaotoe (now Hanoi, Vietnam). Li Bai and Song Zhiti have a deep friendship. Later, his son Song Ruosi released Li Bai's prisoner in Xunyang and cleared the snow for him, which was probably related to family friends. This poem may have been written by Li Bai in Jiangxia (now Wuchang, Wuhan), before Song Zhi Zhi went to Jiaotoe to be relegated to the government.
