What's the climate like in China?

1, temperate monsoon climate

It is distributed in the area north of Qinling-Huaihe River, mainly including North China Plain, Loess Plateau and Northeast Plain. In winter, influenced by the northwest monsoon from the Siberian high center of high latitude inland Mongolia, polar continental air masses prevail here; In summer, influenced by polar ocean air mass or denatured tropical ocean air mass, southeast monsoon prevails.

Climate characteristics: hot and rainy in summer, cold and dry in winter, with the same rain and heat.

There are four distinct seasons throughout the year and the weather is changeable. With the increase of latitude, the temperature amplitude in winter and summer increases correspondingly, while the precipitation decreases gradually.

2. Subtropical monsoon climate

It is distributed in the south of Qinling-Huaihe River in China, including the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, southeast hills, Sichuan Basin and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is a zone where tropical marine air masses and polar continental air masses alternately control and compete with each other. The northwest monsoon prevails in winter and the southeast monsoon prevails in summer.

Climate characteristics: hot and rainy in summer, mild and rainy in winter, and both rain and heat.

It's not cold here in winter. The average temperature in 65438+ 10 is generally above 0℃, and it is hot in summer. The average temperature in July is generally around 25℃, and the direction of Xia Feng changes obviously in winter. The annual precipitation is generally above 1000 mm, mainly concentrated in summer and less in winter.

3. Tropical monsoon climate

Mainly distributed in southern Taiwan Province Province, Leizhou Peninsula, Hainan Island and southern Yunnan.

Affected by the thermal difference between land and sea, the winter monsoon prevails in the northeast monsoon, and the pressure belt moves northward in summer. The southeast trade winds in the southern hemisphere cross the equator and enter the northern hemisphere. Under the action of geostrophic deflection, they turn right into the southwest monsoon.

Climatic characteristics:

(1) The temperature here is high all the year round, and the annual average temperature is above 20℃, while that in Leng Yue is generally above 18℃.

(2) The annual precipitation is large and concentrated in summer. This is because in summer, under the control of equatorial ocean air mass, there is more convective rainfall, and tropical cyclones bring a lot of precipitation, resulting in more rainfall in summer than in tropical grassland climate; In some windward coasts, due to the terrain, the summer precipitation even exceeds the equatorial rainforest climate zone. The annual precipitation is generally above 1500 ~ 2000mm. The tropical monsoon is developed in this area, and the dry and wet seasons are obvious, that is, the northeast wind blows in the northern hemisphere in winter, forming a dry season; The southwest wind blowing from the Indian Ocean in summer is rich in water vapor and concentrated in precipitation, forming the rainy season.

4, temperate continental climate:

Mainly distributed in the northwest of China, including Inner Mongolia Plateau, Tarim Basin and Junggar Basin.

Because it is far away from the ocean and the humid climate is difficult to reach, it is dry and rainy, and the daily temperature difference is greater than the annual temperature difference. Moreover, the closer to the center of the mainland, the drier it is, the greater the annual and daily temperature difference, and the transition of vegetation from forest to grassland and desert.

Climate characteristics: the temperature is high all year round, hot in summer and cold in winter. There is less precipitation.

5. Alpine climate, mainly distributed in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with high altitude, low temperature and little precipitation.
