There are two kinds of anesthesia methods: one is to stand up and feel that your legs are not your own, and swing your legs slowly; The other is numbness. There is a piece of skin on the leg, which doesn't seem to be your own when you pinch it. Take it easy. It will be all right after a while. Sour words are usually at the waist or joints. After sitting up, just use a few hands. Why do we cover our legs with big towels when we meditate? To escape the cold and pain. There are two kinds of nourishment, one is itchy skin, which means that there is turbid gas or oil in the body, and when it is discharged through the pores of the skin, it will have a nourishing feeling, and the other is bone nourishment, which only happens when the meridians and collaterals are blocked. Adjusting the movement of qi pulse during meditation will produce an itchy feeling. Better leave it alone.
The second category is warm and hot, cool and cold. If you have a fever and chills, you are ill, so you can't meditate. You need to see a doctor for treatment, so you will feel cool and warm.
Aerodynamic phenomenon
The third type is pneumatic. There are two kinds of movements in meditation, one is pneumatic and the other is smart. There are two kinds of pneumatics, one is irregular motion and the other is regular motion.
Every time I meditate, there will be irregular movements, but the parts and ways of movement are not fixed, sometimes my hands shake, sometimes my legs jump, and sometimes my head shakes. Regular movement is the phenomenon of moving in a fixed place every time you meditate.
There is a difference between big movements and small movements when moving. I have an apprentice who is very capable. Once during meditation, someone coughed loudly, which made him jump up, somersault and sit down. He was scared, but he still sat there. After several years, it's calm now. In addition, there is a female doctor who lives in the United States. She has been studying meditation for more than ten years. At first, her whole body was very pneumatic. Now, the phenomenon of exercise has become less and less. There is also a female painter who lives near us. Her pneumatics will rebound when she touches the furniture with a little force, not only when she meditates, but also when she does housework. When she knows how to vent, it will be normal now.
If you learn to vent, you can vent from the soles of your feet or from your throat. No matter where the pneumatic movement takes place, your attention should not be focused on the entry and exit of nostrils or the lower abdomen, but on Yongquan point on the sole of your foot. After a period of time, the aerodynamic phenomenon will disappear. Some people can't continue to meditate because they move too hard and don't meditate for the time being.
Intelligent phenomenon
The fourth category now looks like agility. Smart people are generally a little neurotic and hysterical; People with high expectations are also easy to be agile. What is spirit? It is a kind of spirit and power floating in our living space, which may be seen everywhere in our environment. Nervous, anxious and fearful people tend to make use of these spirits. When they come, it will naturally make your body move, such as making various handprints and repeating them regularly. Often, one handprint is repeated three times, seven times, fourteen times, twenty-one times, as many as 7749 times, and then another handprint is changed, which is very regular. But this is not your self-awareness, but the power of the spiritual body is manipulating the movement of your body.
Cleverness can also generate inspiration, not inspiration for writing articles, but a kind of telepathy, which allows you to hear and see things that ordinary people can't easily hear and see. This telepathy may be true or false. The truth is what you couldn't have heard, but you heard it. For example, when you meditate here, you hear something your husband or wife said in Manhattan. You immediately call to ask, and he (she) answers: "Yes! I just said that. How do you know? You will be surprised that meditation at Dongchu Temple in Queens has a special function. Please don't be happy, this is not psychic at all, but a psychic medium that sends you information.
Cleverness is easy to control after it is discovered in the initial stage, as long as the mind says, "This is the spirit that moves me, not myself. I don't want my spirit to dominate me, but I want to order my body not to follow the wisdom. You can gradually get rid of agility. More than ten years ago, a Buddhist meditated in our Dongchu Temple, but he stood up and played Taiji Chuan. I asked him, "Have you ever hit Tai Ji Chuan? He said, "No." I asked him again, "Have you studied Tai Ji Chuan with anyone?" He still said "no" and I said, "This gesture is not like this. And help him correct it, he returned to that wrong posture and said to me, "Master, the posture you taught me is wrong, and my posture is right. I asked him, "Who told you that?" He said, "I heard a voice tell me that the posture that the mage taught you just now is wrong. This is the dual performance of agility and inspiration. I advised him: "if you continue to accept this command from spiritual power, you will become a soul!" Later, the layman appeared clever and made boxing moves, and he was inspired. When he heard the voice of the spirit body, he hinted to himself, "I don't follow the work and I don't want to listen to his instructions." Soon, this phenomenon no longer appeared.
Meditation will have a physical and mental reaction, which is often the case. It doesn't matter whether it is good or bad. It's safest to treat it as an illusion.
There was a lady who didn't even get up after sitting for two incense sticks during our seventh meditation. I walked over and patted her on the shoulder with a candle behind her. After a few seconds, she slowly turned her head and asked, "Master, why did you call me out?" Then I talked to her alone and asked her what happened. She said that she had just been to Elysium. The first thing she saw was a picturesque landscape painting on the front wall of the seat, and then she plunged into that realm until I patted her on the shoulder. For ordinary believers, this is indeed a good phenomenon that can inspire confidence, but for meditators, this is a fable. Some people have seen the patterns on the wall turn into tigers, lions and so on. , from static to dynamic. These are all illusions. When you meditate, all the illusions you hear, see and smell with your nose are dreamland.
Some people will smell a certain fragrance when they are not meditating. A layman once told me that one day she smelled sandalwood downstairs and liked it very much, so she followed the scent and found a family upstairs, knock knock. There is a statue in the room, from which sandalwood smells.
Fantasies and hallucinations may be true, but most of them are false. The fake is that you are the only one who sees, hears and smells, and no one around you can feel it. It's really that you have discovered the sensory realm that others can discover. For example, when you were meditating in our temple and saw your child fall, you called your wife and asked her if it was really the child who fell. Although this is true, it should still be regarded as an illusion. Otherwise, you will be in big trouble. This is how the so-called general computer addiction is formed. It is said in the Shurangama Sutra that whenever any realm appears, whether it is a dreamland or a dreamland, whether it is seen with one's own eyes, heard with one's own ears or experienced by oneself, if you persist in treating it as a sacred land, you will be possessed, and if you treat it as a dreamland, you will be surprised at yourself. You can continue to practice pure Buddhism.
Therefore, the practice experience of Zen must be very pure, that is, the so-called magic comes to cut and the Buddha comes to cut. It means that any reaction, any induction, should be treated as ordinary phenomena and hallucinations, which is the healthiest and safest meditation concept. Because beginners in meditation can't judge whether the abnormal experience is true or false, it is more appropriate and correct to simply regard it as false or illusory. Once you have a great meditation experience, you should come to Master and ask for enlightenment.
