Tromso Detailed Travel Guide

Tromso is located in northern Norway, close to the Arctic continent. It has very unique natural landscapes, such as the rare natural phenomenon of aurora. You can feel the charm of the universe and starry sky. Below is a detailed guided tour of Tromso.

This is a golden year. Seeing the aurora is why I come here.

Coincidentally, a week before departure, I saw a friend I knew posted a photo with Troms? in my circle of friends. The person who posted the picture is my sister who used to intern with me. She and her husband take several trips around the world each year. They can be said to be great travelers.

I quickly contacted her on WeChat about her travel experience. My sister told me that Tromso was just one stop on their Nordic tour, and they left when I arrived.

She also said it was no coincidence that the couple came here. It snowed heavily in Tromso during those days, and the weather conditions were very unsuitable for viewing the aurora. However, the tour guide who signed up for the tour is particularly responsible. They drove for several hours, filled with people, from Tromso on the west coast of Norway to Finland, and finally saw the beautiful goddess Aurora.

I am very lucky. From the day I arrived, it was sunny for several days. Even on the brightly lit island, I could see clear aurora dancing.

I still remember when I first arrived at my residence, as soon as I got out of the car, the landlord suddenly pointed at the roof of his house and called me: "Look, that's the aurora!" This was the first time I saw a real aurora. , its color is blue-green, very thin, like a silk scarf. I was so excited that I didn’t know how to express it, but I couldn’t help shouting, “Wow, it’s so beautiful!” After a few seconds, I rubbed my eyes and asked the poster, is my vision too weak? Why can't I see clearly? The poster told me that the auroras just come and go and are gone now. It's amazing! We walked into the house with emotion. The landlord took me to the balcony next to the living room and told me that maybe I could sit on the balcony in the next few days and drink beer and enjoy the aurora. He said I was really lucky. The poor Australian guy, who stayed at his house a few days ago, stayed in Tromso for a week and didn't see the aurora.

As mentioned before, the host couple briefly explained some accommodation matters to me and recommended some entertainment options to me. Then they hurriedly packed their bags and prepared to go on holiday to the outlying island. Before they left, the host also suggested that I take advantage of the good weather conditions that night to go to the beach on the south coast of the island to see the aurora. There are no lights there and it is easier to see. Although I had just experienced a long journey of more than ten hours, I was still very excited to see the aurora for the first time. I didn't feel tired at all, so I was happy to be there.

The island is not big enough, so I will be there in a few minutes. He heard that I only used my phone to take pictures, and he suggested to me how to keep the phone warm to prevent it from automatically shutting down. I proudly took out my domestic phone and showed it to him: "I use Huawei, and it's not as easy to shut down compared to Apple." When Europeans pronounce "Huawei", the letter H is silent. That sounds like fun and I'm proud of it. As we approached the shore we met a man walking alone. The eldest brother rolled down the window and asked her if she had seen the aurora at the beach. The lady, who happened to be a tourist too, danced and said, "Okay! It was over there, but it's gone now. Maybe we'll come back again in the future. It's really beautiful!"

The car turned a corner, Stopped in a small clearing. My eldest brother said I could only be brought here. The beach is safe. Tell me not to worry. When I get home, I'll send him a text message to say he's safe. After confirming again that I knew the way back, I turned around and went home to pick up his wife.

I walked around a three-story building on the beach, and the entire sea appeared in front of me. Not far from the coast, an island with street lights, light clouds, a half-circle moon, and sparkling sea suddenly appeared in my sight. This is the regular sound of sea water lapping at the shore, and occasionally the wind howls in my ears. I covered myself with my scarf and continued walking, adding the sound of my snow boots squeaking in the snow.

Oh my God, this is the western end of Eurasia, and this is the Atlantic Ocean! I quickly traced the map in my mind. Is it the Bering Sea? What is the sea? What the hell, I forgot, it’s the Atlantic Ocean anyway!

I feel a sense of calm and excitement that I have never experienced before. I have a relatively quiet temperament, and living in the noisy big city of Beijing for several years has only increased my yearning for No One Crossing the River.

At this moment, I stood on the edge of the empty Atlantic island, quietly looking at the sea in the distance. Fortunately, there was still moonlight illuminating it, allowing my sight to go further.

The mountains and rivers of Scandinavia are broken, and the sea in front of you is not a hollow sea, but small islands anchored here and there, with strong fireworks, until the sea gradually becomes flat farther away.

I really like it so much that I don’t even want to see the aurora anymore, for fear that this situation will be too perfect. Under the influence of the North Atlantic warm current, the sea water here does not freeze all year round, but after all, it is also the middle of the winter night, and the cold gradually penetrates through down jackets and sweaters.

I walked for a while in the uneven snow. Because there was no light, there were several feet of snow on the ground and I couldn’t see the ground clearly. Worried about missing the mark, I started walking back. It's embarrassing to see this happen. Really not suitable for staying long. I took a deep breath and said goodbye to the shore.

The next morning, the first thing I did when I went out was to go to the travel company recommended by Sister Haijing and sign up for a light-chasing group.
