How is the Spring City formed?

Kunming is located in the middle of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, near 25 north latitude. Latitude is in the south, and it takes a long time to get direct sunlight in a year, so it gets more heat. This makes the weather in Kunming subtropical. However, Kunming's high altitude and rising terrain lead to a drop in temperature, which makes Kunming's climate different from the general subtropical climate. Midsummer is as mild and pleasant as spring. This situation not only exists in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in China, but also in other low-latitude plateau areas in the world, such as Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, and Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, which are all called "Spring City".

Kunming is in the south of China. Generally, the winter wind and cold wave can't affect it here, which is mainly affected by the southwest monsoon. The southwest monsoon slowly sends hot air from the tropical Indian Ocean, which is as warm as spring even in winter.

Kunming is in the basin, surrounded by mountains. The whole basin is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. Mountains such as Daliangshan Mountain and Wumeng Mountain are like a huge "wind wall", which blocks the invasion of cold air in winter in the north, making Wan Li blue and cloudless in winter, with neither hard ice nor flying snow, which is more beautiful than the spring in March in the south of the Yangtze River.

It should also be noted that Dianchi Lake in the south of Kunming covers an area of more than 300 square kilometers. Such a large water surface, like a huge "air conditioner", has a certain regulating effect on the temperature and humidity of Kunming, adding a lot of spring breath to the "Spring City".
