What are the characteristics of fragrant stone?

Xiangshi is produced in the deep forests of Beiba Township, Nanzheng County, Hanzhong District, Shaanxi Province, China. The stone type of carnation is mainly serpentine marble, and its Mohs hardness is between 3.2 and 3.5. Coffee, yellow, green and other colors, translucent or opaque, with natural stone patterns. It is unique in that it can emit a smell similar to cream chocolate. Its smell is sometimes strong and sometimes weak. When the air is wet, it will stop emitting fragrance. When the weather is sunny and dry, the fragrance remains the same. Whenever an odorous substance approaches, the fragrant stone will stop emitting fragrance or change its taste.

According to the appraisal of geological experts, the aroma of fragrant stone is caused by the organic matter contained in the rock. Geologists have found some rocks in the lush mountains, which give off different degrees of fragrance.

Through infrared spectrum analysis, it is found that these rocks contain some organic components.

The aroma with more organic matter is strong, and the aroma with less organic matter is weak. Studies have confirmed that fragrance is a substance with spices, which is produced after long-term intrusion into rocks.

This shows that the distribution of fragrance is not only related to the species of flowers and plants around the rock, but also depends on the adsorption ability of the rock to organic matter. Through the detection of some rocks, it is found that a yellow-green serpentine has a strong adsorption capacity for spices, so once it meets the external conditions, it is very likely to become a fragrant stone.
