6.5 Chengdu bus arson incident process
As of June 16, the bus burning incident in Chengdu has caused 27 deaths (including 3 injuries, 24 deaths on the spot, including a pregnant woman and several teenage students) and 74 injuries. Among them, 17 cases were critical patients and 8 cases were extremely critical. The injured were treated in six medical institutions including Chengdu Second Hospital and Chengdu Army General Hospital. As of 9:30 am, Fan Juan, a reporter from Sichuan News Network, interviewed Zhang, the head of the marketing department of Chengdu Military Region General Hospital, and said: At present, the hospital has received 42 patients (27 seriously injured), including 6 in the Burn Department/KLOC-0, and 6 in the General Surgery Department, outside the hepatobiliary pancreas.
There were 6 people in the department, 0/4 people in the emergency department/kloc, and there were no deaths. The hospital will spare no effort to rescue and ensure the safety of the wounded.
The Chengdu Municipal Government Information Office made a brief press release near the accident site at around 10: 40 (the latest casualties were announced). Mao Zhixiong, assistant mayor of Chengdu and government spokesman, said that the accident vehicle was a No.9 bus, which burned at the lower bridge of Sichuan-Shaanxi overpass on the way from Tianhui Town to downtown.
The traffic control department of Chengdu Public Security Bureau said that this bus is not a new car. At present, the weather in Chengdu is not hot, whether the car spontaneously ignites or not, the specific reasons need detailed investigation by the technical department before a conclusion can be drawn.
On the 5th 12, the reporter saw near the Chuanshan overpass in Chengdu that the wreckage of the burning bus in the morning had been towed away, the scene had been cleaned up and the traffic had returned to normal.
At about 14, of the 76 wounded, 2 were discharged, and the remaining 74 were treated in the following hospitals: Chengdu Military Region General Hospital, with 45 people, of whom 15 were critically ill; Chengdu Second Hospital 14 people, including 3 critically ill people; There are 4 people in the Provincial People's Hospital, 2 of whom are critically ill; 7 people in Wu Ye Staff Hospital; 3 people in 4 16 hospital; City Sixth Hospital 1 person. Hold the second press conference (an ad hoc investigation team has been set up).
At 23: 20 on June 5, the Chengdu Municipal Government held the third press conference on the bus burning accident (inviting citizens to confirm the deceased). Two critically ill patients, aged 65,438+07 and 67, died unfortunately. The press conference scheduled for the afternoon was temporarily cancelled.
In the evening 1 1, the fifth press conference will be held (suspected passengers carrying flammable items on board). The cause of the fire is unknown, and there are many speculations. The theory of "artificial arson" is accused of being inconsistent with objective facts.
Although officials have now confirmed that someone is carrying gasoline on the bus, where did the fire come from and was it caused by man? Or is it caused by vehicle failure? It is still under investigation.
The unresolved cause of the fire caused many speculations. According to the reporter's investigation, there are three popular causes of fire, namely: artificial arson, bus spontaneous combustion and electrostatic ignition.
The group supporting "artificial arson" believes that the information released by the investigation team shows that the engine belt and diesel oil in the fuel tank of the bus are well preserved, and someone carried gasoline on the bus before the incident. It can be inferred that the fire should be caused by someone deliberately lighting it, otherwise it would not burn so quickly in an instant.
Those who support the "spontaneous combustion theory" say that the artificial arson theory does not conform to the objective facts. Mr. Li, who once worked in the fire department, is a supporter of spontaneous combustion theory.
"It can't be that people set the fire." Mr. Li said that according to the survivor's description and live video analysis, there was smoke in the carriage before the fire. As we all know, smoking is not enough to burn. (Gasoline is a kind of hydrocarbon, and its chemical molecular formula is C8H 18. When gasoline is not completely burned, a part of carbon becomes fine granular black carbon powder, and the black carbon powder diffuses with the gas after gasoline combustion, which is smoke. )
If someone set fire with gasoline on purpose, there would be no such phenomenon. His support for the theory of "spontaneous combustion" is based on the following reasons: First, someone ran after the bus at the scene of the incident to remind the driver of the smoke at the rear of the engine; Second, witnesses saw a fireball at the rear of the car before it caught fire, which was a typical car backfire.
In addition, although Chengdu claims that the diesel oil in the fuel tank of the burning bus is well preserved and the engine belt is in good condition, this does not prove that the bus will not spontaneously ignite. As far as we know, more than 95% of spontaneous combustion vehicles are caused by circuit or oil circuit faults, rather than fires in the engine and fuel tank. The bus that was involved in the accident was repaired on May 25th because of the tubing problem, which is one of the parts prone to spontaneous combustion.
Mr. Zhou, who works in physics in a university, made the following reduction to the cause of the bus fire:
On June 5, someone got on the bus with flammable items. At this time, the car is driving under the Chuanshan overpass, with its head low and its tail high. During the descent, flammable materials leaked, and passengers smelled gasoline and shouted to stop. When the driver heard the news of the sudden stop, at that time, flammable materials flowed along the rear of the car to the front of the car. At the same time, affected by the emergency stop, the crowded passengers in the carriage squeezed each other to generate static electricity, which ignited the flammable materials on the floor of the carriage, and the fire began to burn from back to front and from bottom to top.
"The car body space is closed and lacks oxygen, so the initial combustion is not all white smoke. Then the clothes on the passengers were ignited, and then black smoke was emitted. Then the evacuees and rescuers broke the car glass, and the air circulation caused a fire. " Mr. Zhou's conclusion is that the fire should be caused by electrostatic sparks generated by the friction and combination of flammable materials and passengers. And serious overload is the direct cause of static electricity generated by mutual friction between passengers. After the incident, the public security organs went all out to carry out a lot of exploration and inspection, investigation experiments and visits. After a lot of hard and meticulous work, the Chengdu bus burning incident has been identified as a criminal case of intentional arson, and Zhang Yunliang, who was burned to death in the back seat of the car, is the suspect in this intentional arson case.
After investigation, at about 7: 40 on June 5, Zhang Yunliang got on the bus at the No.9 bus Tianhui Town departure station with a plastic bucket full of gasoline. Some passengers confirmed that Zhang Yunliang dumped and ignited the gasoline in the car when the vehicle was driving from north to south in the direction of the urban area to the third ring road crossing the mountain overpass, causing the vehicle to burn.
According to the field investigation, there are traces of gasoline flowing to the front of the car on the floor where Zhang Yunliang is sitting. The burning degree in this area is the most serious, and the expert group identified it as a fire area. Through on-site inspection, it was confirmed that only Zhang Yunliang's body was found in the central area where the vehicle caught fire, and the windshield of a lighter was extracted next to his body. The posture and orientation of the corpse on the ground indicate that Zhang had no intention of taking the initiative to escape after the fire.
