How to watch Five Stars in a row

From a theoretical perspective, this five-star continuum can be seen across the country, even with the naked eye. If you want to see it more clearly, it is recommended to use a telescope.

The specific situation needs to be based on the weather conditions in different regions. Judging from the latest weather forecast, the dividing line between the second and third levels of the ladder in my country will come down tomorrow night. Heavy rain or even heavy rain will occur especially in North China. There will be local rainfall in Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangxi and other places, which may not be suitable. Watch.

The best observation areas are mainly in the northwest and Yangtze River Delta regions, especially Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan and Xinjiang. Basically, just look up at the sky. can be clearly seen.

Generally speaking, there are not many places in the country that can be clearly seen. Fortunately, the five-star continuum will last for several hours. As long as it does not rain heavily, the clouds will disperse after the heavy rain. There is still a chance to see it.

Cause

From an astronomical point of view, the occurrence of the Five Stars in a row is easy to explain. It takes approximately 88 days for Mercury to make one revolution, 225 days for Venus, 687 days for Mars, 4333 days for Jupiter, and 10760 days for Saturn. Just find the least common multiple of these numbers, which is the number of days required for a five-star continuum to occur.

This number is a truly astronomical number. Fortunately, the ancients did not have high requirements for the quintuple of stars. As long as the longitude difference of the five planets does not exceed 30 degrees, even 45 degrees can be considered a quintuple of stars. Under such conditions, it is much easier for the five-star continuum phenomenon to occur.

A brocade armband from Shu in the Han Dynasty unearthed in 1995 recorded the feat of "Five Stars Connecting Pearls" in eight Chinese characters: "Five stars come out of the east and benefit China." The tapestry is in the shape of a rectangle with rounded corners. , 18.5 cm long and 12.5 cm wide, made of the "Five Stars Out of the East Benefiting China" brocade, edged with white silk, and sewn with three white stripes of about 21 cm long and 1.5 cm wide on each of the two long sides. Silk ribbons, 3 of which are broken.

It is now a national first-class cultural relic and one of the first batch of cultural relics banned from overseas exhibition. It is known as one of the greatest discoveries of Chinese archeology in the 20th century. In October 2019, members of the Sino-Japanese Niya Site Academic Investigation Team discovered the tapestry in an ancient tomb at the Niya Site in Minfeng County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang and it was collected in the Xinjiang Museum.
