Principles of synoptics: Describe in detail the Rossby three-circle radial circulation and its relationship with the surface wind field? What are the three radial circulations that make up three radial circulations? Low latitude circulation

Due to the high temperature in the equatorial region, the airflow expands and rises, and the air pressure in the upper air is high. Due to the influence of horizontal pressure gradient force, the airflow flows to the polar regions. Under the influence of geostrophic bias, the air flow will accumulate and sink when it moves to 30 degrees north latitude, which makes the ground pressure in this area higher, and the area is in subtropical zone, so the subtropical high is formed. The ground pressure in the equatorial region is low, so the equatorial low pressure zone is formed. On the surface, the airflow flows from high pressure to low pressure, forming a low-latitude circulation.

Middle latitude circulation and high latitude circulation

On the surface, the air pressure in the subtropical high is relatively high, so the air flow is polar. In the polar regions, due to the low temperature, the airflow shrinks and sinks, and the air pressure is high, so the airflow flows to the equator. The airflow from the polar region and the airflow from the subtropical region meet at about 60 degrees to form a front, which is called a polar front. The airflow in this area is forced to rise, thus forming a sub-polar low pressure area. After rising, the airflow splits at high altitude and flows to the subtropical and polar regions, forming mid-latitude circulation and high-latitude circulation.
