Snow chains must be installed.
Step one: get your car ready.
It is best that you can install and remove the chain in the driveway or in some relatively safe place. Of course, when you have to install or disassemble on the way, you must be on a safe and flat road by the roadside. No matter where you are, be sure to leave yourself at least 10 feet in front of and behind the car, so that there is enough room to move the chain. At the same time, before your hand touches anywhere near the tire, please make sure that your parking brake has been started to avoid accidents. It's a good idea to pad the tires with wooden blocks as an extra protection measure. Last but not least, remove the excess snow from the tires.
Step 2: Start installing the chain.
First of all, make sure whether your car is front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, because the chain must be hung on the main set of tires. When you know which set of tires need to be fitted with snow chains, clean the snow around the tires as much as possible to make their surfaces flat. Unfold the chains under the car, and put the first gear of each chain connected to the ground against the tire. Make sure that the side of the chain covered with particles is on the ground, which is the part with the largest traction of the chain.
Step 3: Engage (or disengage) the chain.
If you are a rear-wheel drive car, you have to bite the chain backwards. If it's the front wheel, push it forward. Check whether each tire is fixed with a chain and whether each side is connected with a gear. Then get on the bus, start the engine, and slowly and carefully chain Xiangqian Che back about 2 feet.
Step 4: Fix the chain.
Once your tire is placed on the chain at the right angle, pull down the port that overlaps the top of the tire. Each end must be a device that completely matches the whole chain gear. Leave yourself a space of 1 to 2 inches, and then fix the device by two opposite sides of the link.
Step 5: Protect the chain.
Each rubber ring of the chain has four metal hooks, which are evenly distributed around it. On the rim of the wheel hub cover of the tire, each metal hook is fixed in a cross shape. This will ensure that your chain will not slip.
Step 6: Start.
By now, the chain should have been installed safely and can provide you with traction on the snowy road. However, don't think that your chain can guarantee you to drive fast in bad driving environment. Start slowly and pay attention to the sound inside the car, which may remind you that the chain is loose or the tires are not installed (questioning the chain problem). No matter how safe they are, it is unwise to drive tires at 40 miles an hour with snow chains.
Step 7: Take off the chain.
Bad weather won't last forever, so when the snow stops, you should take the chain off your car. Under no circumstances should you drive on snow-free roads with snow chains, which will seriously damage your tires.
