Dragon Boat Festival in Buried Hill

People in my hometown of Qian Shan like festivals. The form is simple, but they pay attention to details, and the festive atmosphere is memorable. I haven't been back for the Dragon Boat Festival for many years. On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, the custom of the Dragon Boat Festival in Qianshan is similar to that in many places, but few people drink realgar wine and race dragon boats.

The Dragon Boat Festival is the early summer season. Su Dongpo said, "It's light and sweaty, and it's blue. Take a bath of vanilla in the Dragon Boat Festival tomorrow." The weather is neither too cold nor too hot, even if you sweat a little, it is best for friends and relatives to get together, unlike the Spring Festival, which is too cold and the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is too hot. Seasonal rattan vegetables, cowpeas, green beans, cucumbers and pumpkins are the most common dishes on the table. Firewood stoves, fried with pigs, are really delicious, and the taste is incomparable to vegetables in vegetable greenhouses. In the past, people worked hard, planting several ridges of wheat on hills or hillsides and harvesting them before the Dragon Boat Festival. New wheat is ground into wheat bran, similar to steamed bread. The newly planted wheat is fragrant, soft and chewy, and delicious. This custom also exists in Huang Po District of Wuhan today.

The old man always thought that wormwood could ward off evil spirits. Liang Zongqi, a scholar in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, recorded in the Chronicle of Jingchu: "Take Ai as a human figure and hang it on the door to swallow poison gas." ? This ancient book mainly records the scenery story of Chu land in ancient China. Buried hill belongs to the ancient Chu land, and the folk custom of hanging wormwood on the Dragon Boat Festival can be traced back to the Zhou Dynasty more than 3000 years ago. However, it is also different from other customs. It goes without saying that wormwood is hung on the door frame at noon on the Dragon Boat Festival. In Suzhou, Jiangsu, not only wormwood is hung, but garlic is also hung! After the Dragon Boat Festival, the dried wormwood is chopped and stuffed into pillows to soothe the nerves and help sleep.

At this time, early rice is heading in the field, just water it. Women throw away tangled housework, take their children back to their parents' homes and give afternoon gifts. Three Jin of pork, one Jin of rock sugar and one Jin of mung bean cake in the village are all weighed on the "butcher stool". Transparent plastic box, sealed with staples, can be opened by pulling. Sesame oil mung bean cake is bright and attractive. Gently knead together, take a sip with a small mouth, it is sweet, and then eat the rest in one bite, which is the taste of the whole Dragon Boat Festival. There are also mung bean cakes filled with sesame seeds, but it is only a few dollars.

Buried hill is not a water town, ducks and dried salted ducks are also raised. After spring, ducks eat live food in the pond and start laying eggs. Duck eggs are large and have white shells, which are suitable for pickling. My grandfather's house has an old clay pot, which specializes in pickling duck eggs. The pickling methods of each family are similar. One month before the Dragon Boat Festival, wash the accumulated duck eggs with clear water, put them into clay pots one by one, add coarse salt to the boiling water to make them salty, let them cool, add some white wine for disinfection, pour them into the pot, seal them and put them in the shade. The Dragon Boat Festival is here. Open a can to get duck eggs. Many people have to cook in a big pot. Duck eggs are steamed around rice. The rice is delicious and the salted duck eggs are cooked. Cut it in half across the board. Never cut the second knife, or the eggshell will be broken and there will be no appearance. At this time, the salted duck eggs are slightly salty and have no oil. Protein is tender and the yolk is thin. It is the best dish to eat, but it will definitely be robbed when served. There are inevitably broken duck eggs in the jar, which have been preserved for a long time. It smells bad after steaming, but they are deeply loved by grandpa. Gaoyou's duck eggs are famous all over the country, but my attitude is very clear-"In the past, it was difficult for the sea to water", and I look down on duck eggs in other places, no matter how good they are.

Jiaozi is a bag, and jiaozi in the buried hill is a long cone. Mix some red beans and red beans. Use good quality glutinous rice and soak it in water in advance. Pick zongzi (leaves) with bamboo baskets and scissors. At the end of spring and the beginning of summer, zongzi is full of new green and flat as a boat, which is a necessity for steaming all kinds of food. Fold the brown leaves and tear them into thin strips. The family made zongzi, the firewood hot pot was steaming, people were busy sitting on long benches, and the kitchen was full of laughter. First, take a zongzi and fold it into a certain shape. Stir-fried black sesame seeds, white sesame seeds, beans and glutinous rice are poured together, and then clamped with chopsticks. Finally, tie the palm leaves tightly and cook them in a pot. The children are squatting at the kitchen door, eating jiaozi like May peaches. Zongzi has the compound fragrance of plants and grains, which tempts people to drool in their mouths. Take a big bite while it's hot. Glutinous rice is soft and beans are slippery. My favorite is the graininess from sesame. Auntie is very good at making zongzi. I like it.

These Dragon Boat Festival folk customs are the most common in my hometown, and they are also loved by most people.
