Baidu's original name is Baishadi:

It is the link between Hangzhou's urban area and scenic spots. It starts from Broken Bridge in the east, passes through Jindai Bridge in the west, and ends at Pinghu Qiuyue. It's probably 2 miles long.

In the Tang Dynasty, it was called Baishadi and Shadi. Later in the Song and Ming Dynasties, it was also called Gushan Road and Shijintang:

As early as the Tang Dynasty more than a thousand years ago, it was It is used to store lake water to irrigate farmland and is famous for its beautiful scenery. Later, people believed that this embankment was built by Bai Juyi, so it was called Bai Di.

In fact, when Bai Juyi was appointed governor of Hangzhou, he built a large embankment near the Han Stone Bridge outside Qiantang, called Baigong Embankment:

There is no trace of it now. Baidi used to be paved with white sand, but now it has been paved with asphalt. On both sides are colorful peach trees and graceful weeping willows. Wang's poem "Shijin Pond" of the Ming Dynasty made the scenery on the embankment very lively: the green trees by the lake reflect the red fence, and the clear water bay is beautiful.

Spring is full of joy, leisure and laziness, and the singing of warblers. Drinking wine in the boat in the waves, people walking on the embankment. Yuan Fenghuai got drunk and then rested, watching the butterflies dancing around the flowers.

From the broken bridge of Baidi to the end of Gushan, the willow trees on both sides of the avenue are gloomy. If it hadn't been for the hot weather, I would have come here to travel. I felt like I could sit by the lake all afternoon:

The total length is 1km. I originally wanted to borrow a bicycle, but I didn't see it along the way, so I had to walk. It’s also good to take photos while walking. You can appreciate it more closely.

Baidu, Baidi, as the name suggests, is a river embankment built by Bai Juyi;

I really need to thank this great poet. Without this road, how can we appreciate the scenery behind the West Lake? Convenient for the public.
