First, the density problem.

Second, the issue of maturity.
Although the early-maturing cotton has little potential to increase production, it has certain advantages over the unfavorable weather in recent years. Cotton with normal bolling is completely different from cotton with premature senescence or late maturity.
The low temperature in the early part of this year affected the growth of cotton. Although the medium-term temperature conditions are suitable, it is also possible to look at cotton peaches, but the cottonseed, fiber maturity and fullness inside are invisible to our naked eyes. In addition to the influence of soil, climate, water and fertilizer, the growth cycle of early-maturing cotton is short, the dry matter accumulation is concentrated, and the boll weight is relatively stable.
Third, defoliant spraying and weather influence.
Although the daytime temperature is good in August and September, the night temperature is low, which can not reach the temperature needed for normal growth of cotton at night, affecting cotton's absorption of nutrients.
Due to the low temperature at night, the nutrient absorption and utilization rate formed by photosynthesis during the day is not high, and many cotton bolls have insufficient nutrient accumulation. In other words, from the flowering period, the weight of a single bell is less than that of a peach, and the weight of the bell is not enough.
Early or late defoliant application will affect the weight of cotton bolls. In the middle and late September this year, the weather was abnormal, the temperature was too high, and defoliants and ethephon were absorbed too fast, which made cotton bolls and leaves dehydrated too fast, and some cotton bolls dried up ahead of schedule, which was also an important factor that caused some cotton fields to reduce production.
At the other extreme, the water was stopped too late, and the cotton defoliation and bolling were delayed. For the second and third time, there were more than 300 grams of defoliants, and ethephon was also used, but the cotton peaches just wouldn't open. Even if cotton bolls are removed, it is not natural. Cotton fiber is damaged, and the boll is greatly lost, which naturally affects the yield.
In addition, from the management point of view, this year's herbicide damage in the early stage of cotton, the chemical control of cotton production reduction and the application of water and fertilizer in the high temperature period will steal our cotton.
