Application effect of silicon fertilizer and foliar fertilizer on cucumber in Yantai Yuyuan Garden

Silicon fertilizer cucumber stems and leaves stand upright, photosynthesis is enhanced, stem diameter is increased, number of nodes is increased, pitch is shortened, sugar content is obviously improved, and taste is good. After absorbing silicon dioxide, cucumber can form silicified cells on the epidermis of stems and leaves, which makes the cell wall thicker and has strong resistance to pests and diseases, especially to downy mildew, Fusarium wilt and leaf spot of cucumber. Applying silicon fertilizer can advance the fruiting period of cucumber, improve the quality of cucumber, obviously increase the yield and greatly improve the quality.

Foliage fertilizer should follow the principle of supplementing deficiency and be supplemented in time during cucumber growth. Pay attention to the following seven points when applying foliar fertilizer:

1. foliar fertilizers containing a lot of hormones should be used with caution. Foliage fertilizer contains a lot of hormones, which will cause premature senescence of plants, lower yield and lower quality in the later stage.

2. The use of foliar fertilizer is generally in the peak period of fruit bearing, and the nutrients are sufficient in the early stage. But after the results, the reproductive growth is vigorous and more fertilizer is needed. Moreover, at this stage, the temperature is low, the root activity is poor, and the ability to absorb nutrients is reduced. In order to meet the needs of normal fruit, foliar spraying fertilizer can supplement the nutrients needed by plants.

3. Pay close attention to the changes of cucumber leaves and supplement elements such as calcium, iron, zinc and boron in time to prevent the occurrence of element deficiency.

4. In the low temperature season, if the growth point is stagnant, spray 800 times of Fengshou 1 solution in time, or spray with Dayun 120, Aiduoduo and other chemicals to promote the normal growth of cucumber.

5. In the middle and late period of cucumber growth, the plants are weak, so 800 times of Fengshou 1 solution should be sprayed in time to prevent the plants from premature aging.

6. Spraying should be uniform, meticulous and thoughtful. Spraying fertilizer on leaves requires fine droplets and even spraying, especially on upper leaves and back leaves, because new leaves absorb nutrients faster and have stronger absorption ability than old leaves and back leaves. So when spraying fertilizer on the leaves, both sides of the leaves should be sprayed as carefully as possible.

7. The spraying time should be appropriate. When spraying fertilizer on the leaves, the amount of nutrients absorbed by the leaves is directly related to the duration of wetting the leaves with the solution. The longer the wetting time, the more nutrients absorbed by the leaves, and the better the effect. Generally speaking, it is advisable to keep the leaves moist for 30-60 minutes. Therefore, foliar fertilizer spraying is best carried out in windless weather in the evening. Spraying fertilizer with dew in the morning will reduce the solution concentration and affect the fertilization effect. Foliar topdressing cannot be carried out in rainy days or before it rains, because nutrients are easily leached out and cannot play their due role. If it rains after spraying for 3 hours, it should be sprayed again on a sunny day, but the concentration should be reduced appropriately.
