The weather in Dianjiang River

In the monsoon climate zone, precipitation is generally abundant, but the seasonal distribution is generally uneven, but the dry and wet seasons are distinct. There are obvious dry seasons and rainy seasons. Most monsoon climate areas in China are dry and cold in winter and warm and humid in the second half of the year.

In the south, the rainy season and rain area change seasonally with the location of subtropical high.

Terrain has an important influence on precipitation. Some mountainous areas (windward slopes) may have more precipitation. However, in some basins or leeward slopes, due to less water vapor transport and downward flow, precipitation is generally less.

Dianjiang River belongs to a basin, and precipitation will be affected by topography. When the airflow from low latitudes is weak, there will be less precipitation. For example, when the subtropical high is low in winter and the southwest airflow is weak.

In summer, if the subtropical high extends westward to control the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, there will also be summer drought weather in the central area of the subtropical high.
