Can I travel in Hoh Xil?
The no-man's land in Hoh Xil is called the forbidden area of life, so you can't go.
No one's land is beautiful, but life is only once! Please be careful with your journey.
Hoh Xil is far less quiet than its name seems. Hoh Xil means "Blue Mountain" in Mongolian and "A Qing Gongga" in Tibetan. Hoh Xil is located in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Region, Qinghai Province, in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with an average elevation of more than 4,600 meters.
There is no sea in Hoh Xil, with an average elevation of 4,500 meters. The weather is bad, there are many wild Gobi deserts, and many wild animals have died.
Hoh Xil, including the part called "Qiangtang Grassland" in northern Tibet, the area south of Kunlun Mountain in Qinghai and the adjacent area of Tibet in Xinjiang; Hoh Xil Nature Reserve is located in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in southwest Qinghai, covering an area of 45,000 square kilometers. Hoh Xil "Hoh Xil" means "beautiful girl" in Mongolian. Tibetans call this area "A Qin Gongga". At present, it is one of the regions with the most perfect preservation of primitive ecological environment in the world, and it is also one of the nature reserves with the largest area, the highest altitude and the richest wildlife resources built in China. Hoh Xil, also known as no man's land, is the largest, highest and most mysterious "dead zone" in China. The entire Hoh Xil is about 5000 meters above sea level, with a dry and cold climate, a serious lack of oxygen and fresh water, and a sinister and daunting environment. Therefore, it is also called "life forbidden zone". Humans can't live there for a long time, only vaguely see the wild animals and plants that have adapted to the cold climate. But it is precisely because of this that they have created unique living conditions for the wild animals on the plateau and become "a paradise for wild animals". Tibetan antelope, known as the pride of Hoh Xil, is a unique species in China, and is a national first-class protected animal. At the same time, a movie "Hoh Xil" brought Tibetan antelope into people's sight, and at the same time made people full of yearning for this mysterious place.
How terrible is Hoh Xil?
The dangerous source of no man's land in Hoh Xil is its harsh meteorological and natural conditions. The average altitude is 5000 meters. If people are here, the probability of tracheitis and respiratory infection is above 80% within three days. Once pulmonary edema and brain edema occur, it is easy to die. Moreover, although there are more than 100 lakes in the no man's land of Hoh Xil, they all belong to salt lakes. It is difficult to find fresh water and there are no living conditions.
But this is not the most terrible. The landform here is very complicated, and no man's land is full of mud, swamp, desert and wetland. The car accidentally got stuck and could not cross the no-man's land alone. In addition, communication equipment can't be used. If something goes wrong, we can only wait for a few days. Once a group of people who went to explore the road got lost here and lost their lives.
: Precautions
1. Hoh Xil is one of the highest altitude areas in Qinghai, with an average altitude of more than 4,500 meters and poor medical and health conditions. Visitors who have not fully adapted to the plateau climate had better stay in Golmud for a few more days.

5. Hoh Xil belongs to the plateau, and the oxygen content in the atmosphere is only about 70% of that in the mainland. If you have heart disease, hypertension, lung disease, severe obesity and other diseases, it is best not to go.
