Hot weather requires employees to go to work at noon without rest.

Regarding employees' rest under weather conditions, there is only one interim measure for heatstroke prevention and cooling issued in June 1960. These Provisions only apply to "high temperature operation in industrial, transportation and capital construction sites and outdoor operation in high temperature season" and "field operation". It is stipulated that under the condition of high temperature, the schedule of work and rest should be adjusted appropriately, and as far as possible, work in the morning and evening, rest at noon, "cold work" during the day and "hot work" at night, and the rest system in the workshop should be arranged appropriately.

However, some regions have formulated local laws and regulations to protect workers' rights. For example, the Interim Measures for Labor Protection in High Temperature Weather in Shenzhen clearly stipulates that the weather with the highest daily temperature above 35 degrees Celsius is high temperature weather. When the highest temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius on that day, work should be stopped on that day; When the daily maximum temperature reaches 38 degrees Celsius, the working hours on that day shall not exceed 4 hours; When the highest temperature reaches 35 degrees Celsius on that day, employees should rest in shifts according to the production situation, shorten the continuous working hours of employees, and do not arrange overtime. 12 to 15 should stop open-air operations.
