If you don’t have a debit card, or don’t want to use a bank card as a voucher, you must ask the retailer for an electronic tax refund receipt when shopping. When applying for tax refund at the airport, just go to the electronic tax refund self-service counter to scan all electronic tax refund receipts one by one. Then follow the instructions at the service desk to receive your tax refund.

You can claim your tax refund in three simple steps:

1. At the airport

If you plan to check in the purchased goods, you must apply for a consumption tax refund before checking in your luggage. . Tax refunds cannot be applied for purchased goods that have been checked in,

2. At the electronic tax refund self-service desk

When you arrive at the service desk, please swipe your passport and the credit card selected as the electronic tax refund voucher/

Debit card. This will bring up all your spending details. Alternatively, you can scan the electronic tax refund receipts one by one to display various consumption details.

After calling up the consumption details, please apply for a consumption tax refund according to the instructions on the electronic tax refund service desk. At this stage, you will need to choose to receive your tax refund via credit card or cash (for tourists departing from Changi Airport).

If you are departing from Seletar Airport, you can choose to receive your tax refund via bank check or credit card. After everything is done, the service desk will issue a notice. Please check the notice to confirm whether you need to go to the customs inspection office, where customs staff will further verify the goods you purchased.

We kindly remind you to arrive at the airport early to ensure you have enough time to handle consumption tax refund and product verification.

3. Receive tax refund

After departing from Changi Airport, you can choose to receive your tax refund via credit card or cash. When departing from Seletar Airport, you can choose to receive your tax refund via bank check or credit card.
