Why is the weather always capricious recently?

Fu, an expert from the Central Meteorological Observatory, believes that large-scale heavy precipitation in the south and rain and snow in the north are the results of the simultaneous influence of warm and humid air and cold air.

Take the rain in the south as an example. The warm and humid air flow from Indo-China Peninsula has brought warm spring, abundant water vapor and unstable energy to most parts of the south. The southbound cold air and warm and humid air meet and collide in the central and eastern regions of China, which brings heavy precipitation weather under the joint action of atmospheric unstable energy and other factors. Along with the rainstorm, there are also strong convective weather such as short-term heavy precipitation, strong wind, hail and lightning.

However, Fu said that although the process was large in scope and strong in intensity, it did not belong to the extreme weather of this season. This is the result of the combined action of cold and warm air, water vapor, upper trough and surface Jianghuai cyclone.

Because the large-scale rainfall weather process in the south and the rain and snow weather process in the north are very "carrying goods", including rain and snow, strong winds, cooling, hail and so on. Coupled with the high temperature in most parts of the country in the early stage, the "cliff-like" cooling brought by this process will bring people the feeling of cold winter.
