The No.9 typhoon "Sura" lasted 1 1 day, and the highest intensity reached the super typhoon level, landing on the southern coast of Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province as a strong typhoon level. After moving out of the sea, it landed on Hailing Island, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province again. On the morning of September 3, it moved into Beibu Gulf, which was a tropical storm, and the wind and rain caused by Sura had a great impact. The violent storms in Guangdong, which confronted Sura head-on, were seriously affected in many places.

"Sura" weakened after the first round of blockade in Guangdong, which also brought obvious wind and rain impact to Guangxi. Since September 2, there have been heavy rains to heavy rains in some areas of Guangxi, heavy rains to heavy rains in some areas, and windy weather in eastern and southern Guangxi and Beibu Gulf. This typhoon process has the characteristics of concentrated rainstorm area, large local rainfall and wide gale range. Affected by Typhoon Sura, there was heavy rainfall in Cenxi, Guangxi, many places were flooded, bridges were washed away, and pigs drifted in the water.

The naming origin of typhoon Sura

In order to avoid confusion of typhoon names, relevant countries and regions decided to standardize typhoon names at the 30th meeting of the Typhoon Committee of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) held in Hongkong, China from October 25th to February 25th.

Among them, tropical cyclones in the northwest Pacific and South China Sea are named after Asian style. The naming method is to make a naming table in advance and then reuse it year after year in sequence. The naming table *** 140 is provided by 14 member countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region to which WMO belongs.

"Sura" is provided by Vietnam, which means wildebeest in south-central China. It is a rare animal recently discovered in Vietnam and the last name on the typhoon naming list. This is the fourth time to use Sura.
