Weather in Gu Lin, Luzhou
On the hottest day in September, the average daily temperature was 8℃ higher than normal.
Yesterday, the autumnal equinox in 2008 made Chengdu people sweltering. The hot sunshine broke through the clouds, and many citizens in the street were sweating like rain. On the sidewalk, some people kept waving their newspapers and handkerchiefs, creating a breeze to resist the sweltering heat. In the writing room, the air conditioner and fan are non-stop.
The fierce "autumn tiger" keeps the temperature rising in most parts of our province. According to the monitoring of the provincial professional meteorological observatory, most areas of the basin continued to maintain high temperature weather from the night before yesterday to the day before yesterday. The hottest place in the province is in Gulin County, Luzhou, "burning" to 38 C; The second place is Dazhou, and the highest temperature in the afternoon is 36 C; Chengdu followed closely, reaching 33℃, setting a new record this month. The average daily temperature in Chengdu in these two days is above 25℃, which is 6℃-8℃ higher than the multi-year average of 19.4℃.
The cause of high temperature
Typhoon strikes, Pacific subtropical high entrenched in Sichuan.
The agricultural proverb says, "The autumn equinox is the night, and it is cold all night." Now that we have entered the "autumnal equinox", what is the sultry weather in Chengdu these days? "The autumnal equinox is not a specific date. It keeps swinging. Although it is the same as the autumnal equinox, it is not comparable. Therefore, it cannot be said that today's temperature is the highest in the autumn equinox. " Meteorologists said that the hot weather in the middle and late September can only be described as rare. It is not the first time that Chengdu has experienced a high temperature above 30℃ during this period, but the daily average temperature has not reached the meteorological autumnal equinox standard of "22℃ or below for five consecutive days".
Director Luo of the Forecast Department of the Provincial Professional Meteorological Observatory said that the "autumn tiger" that everyone felt was actually the return of the Pacific subtropical high, which affected China's largest weather system in summer. "Our province has been under the control of zonal subtropical high, which has caused high temperature weather." According to reports, not only Sichuan, Jiangnan, South China and other parts of the country have recently experienced continuous high temperature, sunny and hot weather. "This is also related to the arrival of typhoons." Luo explained that recently, influenced by typhoon activities such as "Parrot" and "Hagupit", the subtropical high moving eastward gradually strengthened again, and continued to occupy Sichuan and other places, resulting in a situation of high temperature.
