" According to records, in 1938, only Zuoyi Village, Liuxiang, Gaoyang County provided more than 2,000 small houses for the army.

In order to develop production, the anti-Japanese democratic government set up supply and marketing cooperatives, organized sideline production, vigorously advocated spinning and weaving, and helped the people in weaving villages to promote cloth under the premise of supporting the anti-Japanese war. At that time, there were 150 villages in the county, and more than 2,500 people carried out large-scale production movements, showing a situation of weaving and spinning in every village.
