Hongshilin is located in Qietong and Duanlongshan Township, Guzhang County, Hunan Province, with an area of about 10 square kilometers, 26 kilometers away from Guzhang County. The scenic area is covered with tall and strange rocks with different shapes and colors, which change with weather, time and season. Sunny red, rainy black, cloudy brown, morning and evening are different.
The rock formation history of Red Stone Forest is about 450 million years. Hongshilin area and Zuolongxi Canyon belong to the ancient sea of the Yangtze River. A large number of carbonate materials mixed with sediment have been deposited on the seabed, and this beautiful geological wonder has been formed through crustal movement, erosion and dissolution.
