East line

The eastern route is the most popular route. First, due to the perfect development of the east, good road conditions and dense urban attractions. Second, the road is close to the coastline and there are many opportunities to see the sea. Most cyclists will choose Haikou as a starting point and then go to Sanya for a few days.

The riding days are generally 4 days, and there are two routes: national highway version (short-term) and provincial highway version (long-term):

National highway (blue in the picture), with a total length of 373km.

Day 1: Haikou-Wenchang 105km.

The next day: Wenchang-Qionghai 60 km.

Day 3: 72km from Qionghai to Wanning.

Day 3: Wanning-Sanya 136 km

Take provincial highway 20 1 from Haikou to Qionghai via Wenchang, and then ride along national highway 223 to Sanya. Good riders can ride directly to Wanning the next day and finish the eastern route in three days.

On the third day, start from Boao, along Bowen Road, Longtan Road, Yingbin Road and Donghai Road, enter 428 County Road, return to 223 National Road, reach Lehe Town, follow 420 County Road to Gangbei Village Pier, and take a ferry to the other side. On the way, you will pass through Dahuajiao Scienc Spot Popular Science Point, and you can go west to Wanning along County Road 432, or turn south to Binhai Landscape Avenue in Wuchang Village, enter County Road 435 to Shenzhou Peninsula, and spend the night near Shimei Bay. On the third day, whether you live in Wanning, Shenzhou or Xinglong, on the fourth day, you have to climb Niu Ling, the highest point on the East Line, and then go to Sanya along National Highway 223.

Season and weather

Hainan is located in the tropics with high temperature all the year round. How to get there?

The starting point of most riders is Haikou, and some riders start from Sanya. Both cities have international airports, with flights all over the country, which is very convenient.
