What climate type does Japan belong to?

Most of the Japanese archipelago is located in the temperate zone, and its climate belongs to the temperate maritime monsoon type. Its main characteristics are mild and humid all year round, with no severe cold in winter and no heat in summer. Compared with countries in the same latitude on the east coast of Eurasia, Japan's climate is maritime, while compared with Britain and western European countries on the west coast of the mainland, it is continental.
