Geographical characteristics of the location of Potala Palace

Potala Palace is located in Lhasa, the capital of Xizang Autonomous Region, in the valley plain of the middle reaches of Lhasa River, a tributary of Yarlung Zangbo River, with a latitude of 9 1.07', a latitude of 29.39' and an altitude of 3,658 meters.
