What are the clinical features of swine asthma?

The incubation period is usually 1 1 ~ 16 days, the shortest is 3 ~ 5 days, and the longest is over 1 month. The main symptoms are cough and asthma, which can be divided into:

(1) Piglets, pregnant and lactating sows are the most common sick pigs in acute new epidemic areas. Sick pigs often have a sudden onset and the number of breaths increases sharply. In severe cases, the mouth is panting, the nose and mouth are frothy, and a wheezing sound similar to pulling a bellows is issued. Dog sitting posture, abdominal breathing, generally low and deep cough, sometimes spasmodic cough, body temperature is generally normal, when there is secondary infection, body temperature rises. Sick pigs lose appetite or don't eat when they have difficulty breathing. The course of disease is 3 ~ 5 days.

(2) Chronic type generally changes from acute deathlessness to chronic type, and there is also a primary chronic process. Long-term cough mostly occurs in the morning or evening, after exercise and eating. Simple cough at first, spasmodic cough in severe cases. When coughing, stand still, hunch your back, straighten your neck and hang your head until the secretions in the respiratory tract are coughed up and swallowed. With the extension of the course of the disease, there are different degrees of dyspnea, increased breathing times, abdominal breathing, and nasal snoring with dyspnea at night. The above symptoms are sometimes obvious and sometimes relieved. Sick pigs often have a runny nose, tears, mucus cyanosis and slight loss of appetite. The growth and development of sick piglets stagnated, and they gradually became emaciated and weak, and their body temperature was not high. The course of the disease can last for 2-3 months, and the elderly can last for more than half a year.

(3) The feeding and management conditions of recessive pigs are good, asymptomatic, occasionally coughing and wheezing, and the general situation has not changed significantly, and they can still be fattened as usual, but X-ray examination or autopsy can find different degrees of pneumonia changes in the lungs.
