Thoughts on visiting Lingyin Temple

The weather is slightly cool, and Jingui is fragrant. This is a good time to visit the temple. A few days ago, I went to Lingyin Temple with some friends to see its true face. I've only heard of the incense in the temple before, and there are endless tourists. When I visited that day, I really saw the number of tourists, which can't be overstated by rubbing shoulders.

Let me talk about my first visual feeling when I walked into the temple. I have to say, the environment is really wonderful. Just walking in, there is a big archway that says Lingyin Temple, which gives you a sense of majesty and atmosphere. Going deeper, trees are lush, birds are singing and streams are gurgling. This visual feast and auditory enjoyment are constantly intertwined, revealing the ultimate aesthetic feeling in the misty rain. We didn't have a high-class temple, but chose to climb the mountain first, climb Feilai Peak and hold our breath and look into the distance. Climbing high and looking far will make you realize your smallness. We are just a drop in the ocean. Although the entity is small, the spirit can be strong.

After going down the mountain, we bought tickets and entered the temple, took three incense sticks and hurried along with the crowd. We walked into a hall and saw a tall and kind Buddha statue standing in front of us. It sits quietly, looking down at the people who bow down before it with the eyes of all beings. Finally, it was my turn. I knelt nervously and seriously on the mat in front of the Buddha statue, folded my hands and expressed my wishes, hoping that the Buddha would treat me well. There are deep compassion mantras in the back hall, mixed with sandalwood, giving people a sense of peace. Continue to go inside and meet the goddess Guanyin, five hundred arhats and so on. I'm not an idealist, and I don't have any religious beliefs, but in that environment, I'm sure I was extremely religious at that time.

Lingyin Temple is a famous tourist attraction and a holy place for many pilgrims to marry. When I came here, despite the crowd and the noise of tourists. But you can really feel another kind of peace, a kind of peace that you may never find in your heart. The air smells of sandalwood, like a faint detergent. When it is brushed, the soul will be washed away. People become lighter and walk lighter. What happened to life? Go! Keep your spiritual freedom and enjoy the flight of your soul.

Lingyin Temple has a special place to sell related souvenirs. There, people spend some money in exchange for goods soaked with blessings, leaving a miss. There are many Buddhist scriptures and CDs there. I wear headphones, so that I am isolated from the world now. Everything is still. I listened to the music slowly flowing out of my headphones, and suddenly I felt that everything slowed down, even my breathing. Then I thought about it, and it was amazing. It's not that I haven't been to a temple, nor that I haven't burned incense and worshipped Buddha. But what touched me so deeply was only this trip to Lingyin Temple. I don't know why, maybe my mind is getting mature and I can feel the silence and solemnity. Or Lingyin Temple itself is deeply involved. In this environment, you can't help feeling its breath, and you can't help feeling it. Something has been bothering me recently. I am depressed beyond control. I told myself not to be kidnapped by these external things that have nothing to do with you. How troublesome it would be if people were always entangled in trivial matters all their lives. It is better to brush away the dust in your heart, cut off the silk thread that has little contact, and return to your own pure land. Let yourself dominate yourself and live a natural and unrestrained life. Lingyin Temple is such a place where you can think calmly and choose quietly. You've been here, you know.
