Both places are very hot, but the weather is still different.

The weather in Beijing is sunny and the air is dry. It will make you dizzy in the sun during the day, and the oncoming air is a heat wave, but it will be much cooler to hide in the shade or enter the room. Although there is sultry weather, it is not in the mainstream.

It's very hot in the first half of the night every day, but it'll be fine in the second half. It is almost unnecessary to turn on the air conditioner at dawn.

The air in Shanghai is humid, so it is more comfortable to breathe. The weather is sultry. When you are outdoors, you always feel sticky. There is little difference between indoor and outdoor. If you want to be cool, you have to turn on the air conditioner 24 hours a day. If you don't turn on the air conditioner when you sleep, you will wake up soon.

These are just personal feelings. Personally, I prefer summer in Beijing. At least there is a place to hide. Summer in the south doesn't suit me.
