Why is it called Typhoon Bavi?

In order to avoid confusion of typhoon names, relevant countries and regions decided to standardize typhoon names at the 30th meeting of the Typhoon Committee of the World Meteorological Organization held in Hong Kong on 1 October 25th-February 65438-10/October1,and tropical cyclones in the northwest Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea were named in Asian style. The naming method is as follows:

The naming table *** 140 is provided by 14 member countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region to which WMO belongs. Among them, "Bawei" is one of the names of 10 provided by Vietnam, which means the name of a mountain in northern Vietnam.

Typhoon Bavi (English: Severe Typhoon Bavi, international code: 2008, Joint Typhoon Warning Center: 09W, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Administration: Igme) is the eighth named storm in the Pacific typhoon season in 2020. The name "Bawei" was provided by Vietnam, which means the name of a mountain in northern Vietnam.
