Prosperous China

China, a country of Han nationality in China, was once prosperous for many reasons. I think the main reasons are as follows:

Providence 1. China people (only referring to Huaxia-Han nationality, the same below) are the earliest people who sacrifice to heaven, and there is no chaotic superstition, thus resulting in a relatively perfect philosophical system, which is conducive to the development and prosperity of China from nature to society.

2. Climate. China is colder than India and hotter than Europe. The weather is hot enough for crop growth; The weather is cold enough for people to think calmly and carry out social construction.

3. Geography. China is located in the east of Asia, with mountains and plains in the west and the sea in the south, which basically separates China from barbarians and minimizes the interference of barbarians to the progress of Chinese civilization. Other nations have never been brilliant, but their civilizations have been destroyed by barbarians. China's weakest frontier is the north, so it was invaded by barbarians from the north many times, but most of them were resisted by China. There were only three failures, namely, the Five Rebellions in China, the invasion by the Mongols and the invasion by the Manchus. This is also the darkest period in China. The last period coincided with the great development of Europe, and China was in relative decline.

4. The people of China have a strong sense of nationalism and a strong spirit of rejecting barbarism and advocating civilization. (Refer to Spring and Autumn Annals) The core of Confucianism is "benevolence". Confucius evaluated Guan Zhong with the honor of "benevolence" because he was lower than the barbarian invasion in the north. Another function of nationalism is expansion. As a result, China became so big that it was difficult for any barbarian around it to completely annex China. Even if it is annexed, due to the small number of barbarians, China cannot be destroyed and replaced.

5. Writing is the carrier of civilization. Chinese characters are ideographic characters. European characters are pinyin characters, which are greatly influenced by language. As the language changes, the characters will change, so the ancient experience and lessons can't be passed on, but Chinese characters are really different. Chinese characters are not influenced by language and are super stable. So now we can understand the articles of Han and Tang Dynasties. Only in this way can civilization accumulate. Therefore, although Chinese civilization has suffered many major setbacks, it is still easy to recover because of the existence of ancient books. Similarly, paper and printing are also important.

6. Although Confucianism is too idealistic, it does play an important role in the stability of China river crabs. Only with a stable crab society can it prosper. In addition, what many people don't know is that Confucianism is very concerned about science and technology, and many scientists in ancient times took Confucianism as their guiding ideology. Confucianism established self-cultivation and family harmony on the basis of "teaching". The meaning of "learning knowledge by studying things" is to examine the objective world, sum up the laws and become your own knowledge. The core of Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties is "learning from others", so the science and technology in Song and Ming Dynasties are very developed.

Reasons for the decline of China in modern times;

China was originally the most advanced country in the world in16th century and17th century. In the17th century, Heavenly Creations, Compendium of Materia Medica and Physical Tips are all the most advanced scientific works in the world. Many European missionaries in China are surprised: they don't believe in God (in fact, people in China believe in God, which is different from European gods). Why are they more civilized than Europe? Why technology is more developed than Europe.

But it all ended when Manchuria invaded China. The Manchus subjectively suppressed China people, making China people more and more backward and ignorant, so that they could rule. The Manchu people made it very clear: "When the Han people prosper, everyone dies." Therefore, intellectuals who study the philosophy of science and technology in Ming Dynasty can only study the textual research of "there are four ways to write Hui characters" during the reign of Manchu. Tongcheng School in Qing Dynasty was a master of textual research, but their ancestors were real scientists in Ming Dynasty.

In a word, China's backwardness in modern times was not mainly due to the China people themselves, but to the invasion and long-term occupation of barbarians, which made China decline.
