How to see the wind direction and level in the weather forecast?
There are no clouds or scattered clouds in the sky, but the amount of clouds is less than the sky area110, which is called "sunny". Sometimes there are thin high clouds in the sky, but they are also called "sunny".
It is called "partial cloudy" when the cloud amount of low and medium clouds accounts for1/kloc-0 to 3/ 10 or the cloud amount of high clouds accounts for 4/ 10 to 5/ 10 of the sky area.
It is called "cloudy" when the middle and low cloud amount accounts for 4/ 10 to 7/ 10 or the high cloud amount accounts for 6/ 10 to 10 of the sky area. Where the middle and low cloud cover more than 8/ 10 of the sky area, it is called "cloudy day" if the sunlight cannot penetrate or rarely penetrates the clouds.
Classification of wind power
Wind has both magnitude and direction, so the wind forecast includes wind speed and direction. The magnitude of wind speed is often expressed by several winds. The level of wind is determined according to the degree of influence of wind on ground objects. In meteorology, at present, it is generally divided into twelve grades according to the magnitude of wind.
Level 0 wind is also called no wind. Level 2 wind is called breeze, the leaves are slightly noisy, and people feel windy. Level 4 wind is called breeze, and the twigs of trees shake, which can blow up dust and paper on the ground. The 6-level wind is called strong wind, the branches are shaking, the wires are whistling, and it is difficult to walk with an umbrella. The 8-level wind is called strong wind, the twigs of trees can be broken, and people walk against the wind with great resistance. 10 wind is called gale, which is rare on land. Trees can be pulled up and buildings are seriously damaged. /kloc-winds above 0/2 are called hurricanes, which have great destructive power and are rare on land.
In the weather forecast, we often hear the expression "the north wind is 4 to 5", in which the wind refers to the average wind; If you hear the phrase "gust 7", gust refers to the wind with high and low speed, and the wind at this time refers to the high-speed wind.
How to determine the wind direction
Wind direction refers to the direction of the wind. Traditionally, we call the wind direction. For example, the wind from the north is called the north wind, and the wind from the northwest is called the northwest wind. The wind direction is often represented by eight (pictured) or sixteen directions. China generally uses eight directions to predict the wind direction. For example, the wind blowing between 337.5 and 22.5 is called the north wind, and the wind blowing between 22.5 and 67.5 is called the northeast wind. When making large-scale weather forecast, we sometimes hear the names of north wind and west wind. At this time, the wind direction shows four directions. At this time, the wind blowing between 3 15-45 indicates northerly wind; The wind blowing between 45- 135 is called easterly wind; The wind blowing between 135-225 is called southerly wind, and the wind blowing between 225-3 15 is called westerly wind.
How much rain and snow?
Meteorological terms such as light rain, moderate rain and rainstorm in weather forecast programs are classified according to the amount of liquid water or solid water falling from the clouds to the horizontal ground in a certain period of time (generally 24 hours), and the unit of precipitation is expressed in millimeters. For example, 5 mm of precipitation means that the water falling to the horizontal ground has a thickness of 5 mm.
Light rain, the corresponding 24-hour precipitation is 0. 1 to 9.9 mm, light rain to moderate rain is 5.0 to 18.9 mm, moderate to heavy rain is 17.0 to 37.9 mm, heavy rain is 25.0 to 49.9 mm, heavy rain is 38.0 to 74.9 mm, and heavy rain is 50.0 to 37.9 mm.
Light snow is 0. 1 to 2.4 mm, medium snow is 2.5-4.9 mm, heavy snow is 5.0-9.9 mm, and blizzard is greater than 10.0 mm. In addition, some forecasting terms are used, such as "shower", "snow shower", "sleet" and "freezing rain", but they cannot be in magnitude.
