What are Chiyou and Huangdi fighting for?

Throughout the ages, as long as there is war, it is nothing more than for the purpose of interests. For example, during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, territorial disputes were common. So what was the battle of Zhuolu between Chiyou and Huangdi? First, we need to know who Chiyou is.

Who is Chiyou?

According to "History of the Road after Keith", Jiang Chiyou is a descendant of Emperor Yan. To put it simply, Chiyou is a descendant of Emperor Yan. Now we all call ourselves descendants of the Chinese people. In fact, there is another saying that benefiting the people has something to do with Chiyou. Chiyou, the leader of the ancient Jiuli clan tribal alliance. Legend has it that Chiyou has eight legs, three heads and six arms, a bronze head and an iron forehead, and is invulnerable. He is good at fighting with knives, axes and swords. He is immortal and brave. Finally, he was killed by the emperor, and most Jiuli people merged into the Huangdi tribe, which opened the starting point of Chinese civilization.

"Shiben" records: "Chiyou served as five soldiers: Ge, spear, Chao, Emirates spear and Yi spear." According to legend, Chiyou not only uses gold as a weapon, but also can call the wind and rain. It may be a bit fantastic, but it can be understood that Chiyou can know astronomy and geography. Knowing when it will rain, people always have to eat according to the weather at that time. Chiyou's best weapon is a knife and axe, and his tribe is best at smelting copper and iron. It has brought great influence to Chinese civilization.

Battle of Zhuolu

According to "Cage of Returning to Tibet", "Chiyou came from the amniotic fluid, with eight arms and eight toes, and cut the mulberry in the nine brains, and the Yellow Emperor killed it in the clear autumn." The history of the war between Chiyou and Huangdi is called the Battle of Zhuolu. There are two versions:

The first edition: After the Yellow Emperor defeated Yan Di, Chiyou joined his eighty-one brothers in a decisive battle with the Yellow Emperor in the Central Plains. Because Chiyou has the ability of similar weather forecast, knowing that there will be heavy fog that day, I thought it would make the Huangdi tribe lose its way and defeat each other. But who knows that the Yellow Emperor tribe also has capable people, who made a south guide car so that the troops would not get lost. Finally, Chiyou was killed by the emperor.

The second version: Chiyou was originally in Yan Di tribe, but later he went it alone. Later, Chiyou defeated Yan Di because of the conflict of interest between them. Emperor Yan contacted the Huangdi tribe, and the two tribes fought against the Chiyou tribe together, and finally Chiyou was defeated by the Huangdi.

As can be seen from both versions, Chiyou was killed by the Yellow Emperor. The Yellow Emperor buried him very loyally, and Chiyou's head turned into a blood maple forest, calling him a "soldier saint", that is, a god of war. Later, when many people fought, he painted Chiyou on the battle flag, symbolizing bravery and incomparable. Other tribes saw the battle flag and thought Chiyou was not dead, so they surrendered.

Chiyou and the guess of the purpose of the Yellow Emperor's war

As can be seen from the above statement, when Emperor Yan withdrew from the historical stage, the two tribes, Chiyou and Emperor, were most likely to lead the Chinese nation forward. But these two tribes have their own characteristics. Chiyou tribe represents advanced civilized farming equipment, and Huangdi tribe represents advanced car-making technology, and the two inevitably collide. The purpose of their war is to unify Chinese tribes. In the end, the battle of Zhuolu really reached the vast Central Plains occupied by Huaxia Group, which played a catalytic role in further integrating various clans and tribes.

Although now we can understand the scene of the battle between the emperor and Chiyou through a few words in the literature. But there is no doubt that this war has greatly promoted the better development of the whole Chinese civilization.
