How to break the tail of a sheep?

Fine-wool sheep, semi-fine-wool sheep and their hybrid sheep have long and thin tails. In order to prevent the pollution of hindquarters and facilitate breeding, tail cutting is usually carried out at the age of 5 ~ 14 days after birth, and should be carried out in sunny morning. There are two ways to break the tail:

(1) Before burning and cutting the tail, prepare a board with a round hole in the middle and install it on the workbench. When cutting the tail, put the lamb's abdomen forward, put the tail through the small hole of the tail cutting board, cover the anus, and then burn it slowly between the third and fourth vertebrae of the lamb with a reddish iron tail cutter. After cutting off the tail, disinfect the wound with 5% iodine. If there is still bleeding at the cut end, it should be cauterized to stop bleeding.

(2) Ligation and tail-cutting method Use elastic rubber bands to tighten the caudal vertebra and cut off blood circulation. Because the lower part of the tail is not nourished, it will soon shrink, and it will fall off on its own in about 10 days. This method is simple, does not bleed, and can avoid tetanus infection.
