The Human History of Zhangfeng Town

Zhangfeng Town, a humanistic town, was named after Konosawa in ancient times. This is the place where "the western expedition wins the forest" in the Spring and Autumn Period, the place where Peng Yue fought in the late Qin Dynasty, and the famous Juye religious plan in modern times also happened here. The county was established in the Western Han Dynasty, and Linzhou was established in the fourth year of Tang Wude, so Juye was also called Linzhou.

Zhangfeng Town, Juye has a long history and profound cultural heritage. General in the late Qin Dynasty and the early Han Dynasty, General Li Dian of the Three Kingdoms Cao Wei, Wang Yucheng, a writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, and Chao, a bachelor of Sumen, were all born in this land. There are many places of interest in the territory, such as the ruins of Changyi ancient city, the tomb of Chiyou recorded in the royal catalogue, the Kirin Terrace in the Spring and Autumn Period, the Qilu Alliance Terrace in the Warring States Period, the summer cave of King Qin in Jinshan, which is famous for its exquisite craftsmanship, the Millennium Yongfeng Tower, the tablet of the screen thief known as the "unique writing, unique book and unique monument" and the Dacheng Hall built in the Ming Dynasty.

The statue of Juye Stone Buddha Temple published in the Northern Qi Dynasty is engraved with four simplified characters, which is the earliest known simplified characters so far, thus pushing the history of simplified characters in China back to the Southern and Northern Dynasties.

There are many popular operas in Juye, including Lu Bangzi, Henan Opera, Jujube Bangzi, Dapingdiao, Sipingdiao, Liu Zi Opera and Liangjiaxian Opera. Folk "Dayaoban" and "Tianjiaban" are ancient local operas with a history of 300 years. Juye's painting and calligraphy art can be traced back to the Qin and Han Dynasties.
