According to the seriousness of the case, those who illegally spread weather forecasts, severe weather warnings and early warning signals to the society will be punished by ordering rectification, warning and fine.

Meteorological forecasts shall be issued in a unified manner. Meteorological offices and stations subordinate to the competent meteorological departments at all levels shall, in accordance with their duties, issue meteorological forecasts to the public through the channels for issuing meteorological forecasts, and update and issue meteorological forecasts in a timely manner according to weather changes. No other organization or individual may release weather forecast to the society in any form.

Punishable behavior:

1, radio, television, newspapers, telecommunications and other media spread public meteorological forecasts and severe weather warnings to the society without using the meteorological information provided in time by the meteorological offices and stations affiliated to the competent meteorological departments.

2. Radio, television, newspapers, telecommunications and other media fail to broadcast or issue disastrous weather warnings and meteorological disaster warning signals as required.

3. Disseminating disastrous weather information and meteorological disasters obtained through false or illegal channels.

4, radio, television and other media and fixed network, mobile network, Internet and other communication networks do not use the real-time early warning signals provided by the meteorological offices and stations affiliated to the competent meteorological departments.

5. Disseminating weather forecast to the society without using the latest weather forecast provided by meteorological stations affiliated to local competent meteorological departments.

6. Spreading false weather forecast.

Article 38

In violation of the provisions of this Law, anyone who commits any of the following acts shall be ordered by the relevant competent meteorological departments to make corrections within their authority, given a warning and may be fined up to 50,000 yuan:

(1) illegally releasing public meteorological forecasts and severe weather warnings to the public;

(two) radio, television, newspapers, telecommunications and other media to disseminate public meteorological forecasts and severe weather warnings to the society, without using the timely meteorological information provided by the meteorological offices and stations affiliated to the competent meteorological departments;

(3) The meteorological data used by units engaged in atmospheric environmental impact assessment for construction projects do not meet China's meteorological technical standards.
