Why Yunnan is rich in mushrooms, is it related to their environment and climate?
Yunnan province has a high terrain in the northwest and a low terrain in the southeast, which gradually decreases from north to south. It belongs to mountainous plateau topography, and the mountainous area accounts for 88.64% of the total area of the province. Mushrooms are suitable for growing in humid forests, which is consistent with the topography of Yunnan. The terrain is bounded by Yuanjiang Valley and the wide valley in the southern section of Yunling Mountain Range, which is divided into two major terrain areas: east and west. The eastern and central Yunnan Plateau is a part of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, which is characterized by gently undulating low mountains and round hills. The mountains and valleys in the west alternate with each other, and the terrain is steep, forming a strange and magnificent mountain glacier landform. Mushroom growth needs suitable temperature, humidity and light, and the southern section of Yunling Mountain has prepared better light conditions for mushroom growth. The topography of the valley bottom provides a place for the growth of mushrooms, and there must be rivers in the valley, which provides sufficient water for the growth of mushrooms. Yunnan province spans the Yangtze River, Pearl River, Yuanjiang River, Lancangjiang River, Nujiang River and Daying River, providing sufficient water resources for mushroom growth. Yunnan's climate basically belongs to subtropical and tropical monsoon climate, while northwest Yunnan belongs to plateau and mountain climate. The hot and humid climate has created a large number of tropical rainforests, and the humid forest is a good place for mushrooms to grow. It's a pity that Yunnan has such unique conditions and doesn't produce mushrooms. There are valleys in the south and southwest of Yunnan, and the temperature is a little lower than other places. The warm climate has created many virgin forests and provided places for the growth of mushrooms.
In short, due to the rich and diverse climate types and vast regions in Yunnan, the climate conditions in all parts of the province are diverse, but they are mainly warm and humid, which ensures various conditions for mushroom growth and adds a natural barrier for mushroom production.
