Tibet Travel Guide+Safety Matters+Accommodation+Customs

There is always nothing wrong with being more careful when you are away from home. Although you are in sacred Tibet, you should keep a normal heart and be alert to pickpockets. Another problem worth worrying about is altitude sickness. Altitude sickness will still consume people's body and mind, so we should prepare in advance.

As far as clothes are concerned, the temperature near Lhasa will plummet, and it will be very cold once it enters autumn, so most tourists choose to enter Tibet in summer. After checking the weather forecast, I realized that this is not entirely the case. The highest temperature in Lhasa during the days we went was around 13℃, but the lowest temperature at night was only 1~2℃, with a great temperature difference. Maybe we are wearing a sweater with a down vest or a thin cotton-padded jacket of ordinary thickness, which can give you a reference.

But if you leave Lhasa and go to a higher altitude, the temperature will be lower.

You must keep warm when traveling in Tibet. It is very dangerous to catch a cold at high altitude.

Lhasa is a veritable city of sunshine. Sunlight, glass and even the light reflected from the car shell make everything shine. Therefore, the sun protection work must be done well. Prepare sunglasses and masks in advance. Here, masks are not used to prevent smog, and the plateau itself lacks oxygen. In order to reduce the impact on breathing, it is best to use a relatively thin mask. Masks are sold in many places in Lhasa, with different styles and thicknesses. For local people, masks are basically necessary for everyone. So you can buy a very thin mask locally.

When eating in Lhasa, the most concentrated local food belongs to Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street. Among them, Maggie Ami, Guangming Sweet Teahouse, Gangla Mei Duo and Lhasa Snowland Restaurant are famous.

When you go to Lhasa, you must try the old yogurt here, which is made by local people in a traditional way. In the markets on both sides of Potala Palace, many shops sell them.

There is also a Tianhai night market in the city, and there are many barbecues at night.

In Lhasa, if you eat a light meal such as noodles and mixed rice, the price will be higher than many places in the mainland, about 15 yuan. There are also many Sichuan restaurants, and Dicos, a fast food. So there are still many choices to eat.

There is a supermarket near our hotel, and we also bought some local snacks in it. I tasted it and thought that there was a kind of red jujube-flavored Baba biscuit called Baba New Method, which was delicious, so I took some home. Dried yak meat is also worth taking.

We stayed in the Teijin Hotel in Lhasa for a few days, which is close to the Longwangtan Scenic Resort Scenic Resort Park behind the Potala Palace. The location is good and the room is clean. Highly recommended. I made a reservation in E Long at that time, and the standard room 169 returned to 30, including breakfast.

In addition, there are many family hotels near Jokhang Temple, with good conditions and affordable prices, and some have kitchens where you can cook by yourself.

If you go to Lhasa alone, a youth tour like Dongcuo is also a good choice. The advantage is that it is convenient to carpool or group here. I want to sign up for a group tour in Lhasa. We compared several travel agencies and found that the quotation here in Dongcuo is also the lowest.

Ok, this time we will fly back and forth to Lhasa. Of course, there are many ways to travel to and from Lhasa, and there are several choices of routes, so I won't complain.

Let's talk about the airport bus. Traffic control in Lhasa is very strict. The 30-seat bus will leave when 18 is full, and the frequency is very fast. The terminal is at the Civil Aviation Administration below the east side of Potala Palace. We saw the first bus from downtown at 4:30, and the last bus at 18: 00. Travel time is about 1 hour. Of course, there are also foreign situations. When we came back by bus, we were told that a tunnel on the airport road had collapsed, so the one-hour trip became two and a half hours. Fortunately, we left extra time. It seems that flying is really a matter of catching up early and not catching up late!

Write the geographical locations of several scenic spots in Lhasa again.

Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka and Tibet Museum are not far away, and it is also convenient to take public transportation.

Sera Temple and drepung monastery are located in the western and northern suburbs of Lhasa respectively. From the bus stop near our hotel, namely Hou Xue Xincun Station of Potala Palace, we can take the bus directly to Sera Temple, which takes about half an hour by car. That bus is from drepung monastery to Sera Temple, and it should take about the same time to get to drepung monastery.

In addition to taking part in tour groups, it is also a good choice to travel around Lhasa by chartered bus. The advantage is that you are more free and can stop taking pictures at any time. You can get a taxi in many places in Lhasa this season without making an appointment. We are asking about a 7-seater car, usually with 4-5 passengers, and each kilometer is in 2.8 yuan. (Lhasa to Yanghu 150km, Namco 250km, Linzhi 420km).

About high rebellion is the biggest enemy of traveling to Tibet. In autumn and winter, leaves turn yellow or fall, flowers wither, photosynthesis decreases, and the original thin oxygen content becomes lower. I have been to western Sichuan at an altitude of more than 3000 meters in summer, and there is no altitude sickness. This appearance should be related to the season.

Through chatting with you, I found that most people will have different degrees of altitude sickness when they come to Lhasa at the beginning of this season. There is no decisive relationship between high treason and gender, age and physical condition. Most people will recover after a day or two's rest, and they will fully adapt after a week. Therefore, if you feel a little uncomfortable, you must not do strenuous exercise and overeating for the first two days, and try to rest after sunset (because the oxygen content at night is lower than during the day).

You can eat rhodiola a week in advance to prevent high reaction. If you have a high reaction, you can buy Gao Yuanan or Gao Yuankang capsules locally (it will take effect after half an hour, although it has certain side effects, but its side effects can be ignored if the high reaction cannot survive). You'd better bring your headache medicine in advance. You can also use local oxygen tanks, but don't take oxygen easily at first, which will form dependence.

If you are not sure whether you have a serious high reaction, it is best not to buy a plane ticket in advance.

People who don't know much about law and order in Lhasa may be worried about law and order here. In fact, I think the law and order in Lhasa is pretty good all over the country. The police force here is heavily invested, and there are security checks when entering the park, and there are places to check ID cards. Some Tibetans we have contacted these days are mostly friendly.

Of course, it is impossible to be completely safe here. Even in a sacred place like a temple, we can see the sign "Beware of pickpockets" hung by the Tibetan police.

In short, don't be prejudiced against this nation because of some extremists, and be cautious everywhere. Don't let people's beliefs make them feel that this is a pure and sacred place and has lost its most basic protection. Just keep a normal heart.

As for customs, do as the Romans do. When we come to Tibet, we should respect the local customs.

Walk clockwise in religious shrines such as temples, pagodas and holy mountains. If you really need to go retrograde, try to pull over and don't interfere with the local people.

Temples and palaces are generally not allowed to shoot indoors.

A war correspondent said, "You didn't shoot well enough because you weren't close enough." This sentence is regarded as a wise saying by many photographers. In fact, this is not always the case, at least not in Tibetan cultural shooting. "Close" is not only the distance, but also the distance of the heart. Only by giving others respect and mutual trust can we take good photos.

China is a country with multi-ethnic cultures, so when you visit other people's websites in Tibet, you should respect other people's customs. Tibetans have their own beliefs. Try not to take pictures.
