What should the child do if he has a bad cough?

Since the beginning of winter, it may be that the weather is too dry and cold, which leads to the fact that the children who were in good health did not get any diseases. He suddenly caught a cold and had a fever. Later, after the fever went down, he kept coughing for a week or two. What should the child do if he has a bad cough? What happened to the child's cough? Let's take a look.

1, children cough is always a bad reason.

In the dry winter, the cold current attacks most parts of the country from time to time. When the weather is cold, coughing is even more competitive with children. Cough in school, kindergarten, eldest brother and second child, parents and doctors are always pestered by cough.

Winter is the main battlefield for pediatricians to fight cough. For experienced pediatricians, no matter what type of cough, there are ways to deal with it, but there are still things to say in the face of many careless and ignorant parents. Chen Ying, director of pediatrics at Beijing New Century Women and Children's Hospital, pointed out in an interview with China Women's Daily and China Women's Network that some children have persistent cough in winter, which is directly related to their parents' wrong practices. In fact, many coughs can be completely avoided if the concept is handled correctly.

Children always cough, sometimes it's their parents' fault.

Chen Ying said that children always get sick and cough when they get sick. Why are children so delicate? This is largely caused by parents. If you don't believe me, compare the following common mistakes and see how much you can claim as a parent.

It's cold, and I can't bear to let my children exercise outdoors. The weather is getting colder every day. In the minds of many adults, the way to adapt to seasonal changes is to avoid. When it's cold, I don't go out, not even. Always afraid that the child will freeze. Go out and get on the bus, get off the bus and enter the house. There is no outdoor activity. Raising children is basically equivalent to raising flowers in a greenhouse. Will the flowers in the greenhouse be a little troublesome?

Children can't stay at home every day, but going out at home for a long time is very easy to get sick. After getting sick, they can only curl up at home and dare not go out. One day, I had to go out because I needed to socialize, and I was sick when I came back. Children's winter is spent in such repeated diseases.

As soon as the cough is cured, it will toss. Nowadays, more and more parents have undergone great changes in their concepts. It is only the most basic requirement to let your children eat and wear warm clothes. Our children grow up at such a good age that life cannot be too dull. It's fun to toss and turn. It seems that I don't take my children to travel around the country and eat, drink and be merry all over the world, but I don't take my children to see enough of the world. I'm sorry for my children. But it is ok to toss, and the children should also give strength. If the child gets sick and coughs after tossing, he has to toss less. In particular, coughing just allows children to participate in strenuous exercise, which is one of the reasons for repeated coughing.

Cough and asthma have not been cured, and they are always in a hurry to stop taking drugs. Parents always take their children with cough and asthma to see experts everywhere. These children with cough and asthma include children with allergic cough, asthmatic bronchitis and asthma. Cough and asthma in children are often manifested as easy to cough, difficult to heal and severe cough. The psychological process of these children's parents is often like this: the child's cough and asthma attack-atomization-cough and asthma will be relieved soon-worried about the side effects of atomization, stop atomization as soon as possible-cough and asthma will start again after stopping taking medicine for 2~3 days-and then see a doctor and atomize again, and so on, cough and asthma will always be delayed again and again.

Director Chen Ying is deeply saddened by this child who coughs for a long time because he is eager to get rid of drugs. She said that it is a common treatment time to treat children with cough and asthma for 2~3 months, and sometimes it is necessary to continue atomization treatment for a period of time after the cough symptoms are completely relieved. If the drug is stopped as soon as the cough is relieved, it will easily cause repeated cough, make the cough last longer, and inhale more drugs by atomization.

If your child is diagnosed with allergic cough's disease or asthmatic bronchitis or asthma, it often takes a long time to be treated with atomized inhalation. Some parents said it had been a week, long enough! However, this is not long enough, not enough. Parents don't count Children with cough and asthma must reduce their medication and stop using it under the guidance of a doctor.

For those children who are not used to outdoor sports in winter, Chen Ying's advice is: when the weather is not particularly cold, take the children outdoors every day to adapt to the cold weather and strengthen their physique through exercise. This is the most fundamental way to reduce cough in autumn and winter.

Chen Ying suggested that when a child's cough just recovered, the amount of exercise should be gradual and gradually recovered. Training sports, such as swimming, running, skiing and skating, have to wait until the cough is over, and some competitions have to be given up.

Parents should remember several data when taking their children to see cough.

Director Chen Ying told reporters that in the face of children with chronic cough, doctors need parents to state their medical history clearly and accurately. Therefore, parents should clear their minds and provide some data for doctors before taking their children to see a doctor.

1. How long have you been coughing? Outpatients often encounter children with repeated coughs. When the doctor asks how long he has been coughing, he often answers: not long, and then he says that he has been coughing 1~2 months. Some parents are willing to talk about the course of the disease for a long time, thinking that this can attract the attention of doctors.

What parents should pay attention to is that when writing down how long the child coughs, parents must clearly tell the doctor: cough 1 and 2 months every day, or cough for 5-6 days, and cough for 4-5 days after stopping taking drugs 1~2 weeks. If you cough 1~2 months every day, doctors will consider allergic cough or some other serious or special diseases, and if you cough intermittently, the probability of repeated respiratory infections is higher.

The medical history provided by parents is very important, especially when the doctor can't hear anything abnormal in the bronchi and lungs. The doctor's diagnosis depends largely on the medical history. If parents consciously describe the serious illness for a long time, the doctor will give medicine according to the serious condition.

2. What are the characteristics of cough? It is necessary to clearly describe or answer the doctor: whether the cough is serious during the day or at night, whether it gets worse after exercise, and whether it takes 2~3 weeks for each cough to recover instead of 1 week. Did you take antibiotics? After taking them, you will be fine. These medical histories are very valuable for the diagnosis of diseases.

Cough is always bad, don't forget to look for allergens.

For some unknown reason, the child suddenly coughed violently, without fever or runny nose, or coughed for 2-3 weeks. I have taken antibiotics and atomized them, but my cough is very slow. In these cases, parents must try their best to find potential allergens.

Director Chen Ying said that she often repeatedly asked the parents of children with the above situation in the outpatient department. Where did the children go to play? Contact what? What did you eat? What factors have changed in the living environment these days?

Parents often say with certainty: no! Nothing has changed, and nothing new has been eaten. At this time, she will persistently ask: Think about it, think again. Strangely, under the repeated questioning of Dr. Chen, allergic factors that cause children to cough can often be found.

The following is a summary of the common factors that have caused allergies recently:

Changed bedding, cotton-padded jacket. It's cold, and people start to cover themselves with quilts and cotton-padded jackets. In the outpatient department, some people began to cough when they changed their duvets, and some people changed their cotton-padded jackets. Even the children started coughing when their mother and aunt changed down jackets.

Another baby has a lot of eczema on his face. He stopped complementary food and applied medicine, but it didn't get better. After asking, he found that he had recently changed a new sheet.

These examples don't mean that you can't use down quilts and down jackets, and you can't change new sheets. But if the child's cough has a strong time correlation with changing these clothes, and he suddenly coughs badly, he should consider these items. It may be a factor causing allergies. You can try to replace it. If the cough or allergy is obviously relieved, it is not recommended.

New pets and flowers. Even in winter, many families still order flowers. If they have ordered flowers recently, or have new cats, dogs, birds and mice, think about their correlation with cough.

Newly-opened air conditioner. In winter, some families keep themselves warm. When turning on the air conditioner, consider whether the filter screen is clean and whether the air outlet is wiped clean.

Humidifier The winter in the north is very dry, and many families begin to use humidifiers at this time. But what parents can't think of is that the child's cough or even wheezing may be caused by the humidifier. Director Chen Ying pointed out that the problems generally lie in the following aspects, which require parents' special attention.

1. The filter was not replaced before use. Some humidifiers with filters will not only lose dust after being placed for a summer, but also may breed mold if they are not cleaned before storage. If it is reused in winter, it is not water mist without changing the filter screen, but dust and mold, which is very easy to cause allergies.

2. Add tap water. Tap water contains calcium, magnesium ions, bleach and other substances. After passing through the humidifier, some of them will be sprayed with water mist, and a large amount of white powder will be seen on the table or the ground where the humidifier is placed the next day. These tiny particles are very easy to cause allergies when they spread in the spray, causing children to cough.

Director Chen Ying suggested using pure water or distilled water for humidification. It is also not recommended to put water for many days at a time. It is best to change water every day.

3. The humidifier is too close to the child. If the humidifier is placed at the bedside especially close to the child, it may also cause allergies. The humidifier is too close to the baby, and atomized water molecules directly enter the baby's respiratory tract. Children with sensitive respiratory tract may be intolerant and cause cough.

Director Chen Ying said that she met a child who suddenly gasped with a pure water humidifier in the clinic. The child himself is a child with asthma and has been well controlled. I bought a new humidifier at home, and my mother used pure water carefully for fear that her child would be allergic. However, the humidifier is foggy and placed next to the child. Soon the child was panting, and it was very serious.

She said that this situation is not uncommon in clinic. If the child is allergic, it is recommended that the humidifier be placed away from the child.

4. Dry and cold air. In addition to the above factors, colds sometimes become allergic factors. If the child has airway sensitivity, you can wear a small mask when you go out and take it off for 3~5 minutes, which can reduce the direct stimulation of dry and cold air on the child's respiratory tract and reduce the occurrence and aggravation of cough. Usually children can wash their faces with cold water to adapt to the cold.

2, the treatment of cold and cough

1, ginger+brown sugar+garlic

The child has a cold, and drinking warm ginger and brown sugar water can play a very good therapeutic role. If the child has a cough at the same time, you can add 2 ~ 3 cloves of garlic to the ginger brown sugar water and cook it together. It takes 10 minutes to boil out the spicy taste of garlic and make children willing to drink it.

Step 2 steam garlic water

Take 2 ~ 3 cloves of garlic, mash them, put them into a bowl, add half a bowl of water, add a crystal sugar, cover the bowl and steam in a pot. After the fire boils, steam it on low heat 15 minutes. When the water temperature of the garlic in the bowl is hot, feed it to the children, and garlic can be eaten without it. Usually 2 ~ 3 times a day, a small bowl. Garlic is warm and enters the spleen and stomach and lung meridians. It has a very good effect on treating cold cough and kidney deficiency cough, and it is convenient and simple, and children are willing to drink it.

Step 3 bake oranges

Bake the orange directly on a small fire and turn it constantly until the orange peel turns black and hot air comes out of the orange. When the orange is a little cooler, peel it off and let the children eat warm orange petals. If it is a big orange, children can eat 2 ~ 3 petals at a time. If it's little Gong Ju, the children can eat one at a time. It is best to take it with garlic water, 2 ~ 3 times a day. Oranges are warm and have the effect of resolving phlegm and relieving cough. After eating baked oranges, the amount of sputum will be significantly reduced, and the antitussive effect is very obvious, and children are willing to eat it.

4, sesame oil Jiang Mo scrambled eggs

Put a teaspoon of sesame oil in a wok, heat the oil, add Jiang Mo, soak in the oil for a while, then add 1 egg and stir well. When children cough due to cold and physical weakness, let them eat it while it is hot before going to bed every night for a few days, and you will get obvious results.

5, pear+pepper+rock sugar

Pears 1 piece, washed, cut horizontally and hollowed out the core in the middle, add 20 prickly ash and 2 crystal sugar, then put the pears in a bowl and steam on the pot for about half an hour. A pear can be eaten twice. Steamed pepper and rock sugar pear are very effective in treating colds and coughs, but some children don't like the taste of pepper, so parents can choose for themselves.
