How did the Qing emperor die? Why do most people die in winter?

Looking through the archives of Qing Palace, we can find a strange phenomenon: the causes of death of emperors in Qing Dynasty are complicated, and in order to keep the mystery of emperors, some facts are often covered up. More than half of the emperors in the Qing Dynasty 12 (especially after entering the customs) died unexpectedly. And most of them died in the cold winter, especially after the first month.

Three emperors died during the Spring Festival. They are Shunzhi, Qianlong and Daoguang. Kangxi, Tongzhi, Guangxu and Xuan Tong died in the cold winter. From this point of view, most of the "big" emperor penguins will not survive this winter.

Why did most Qing emperors die in winter? Excluding their age, physical illness and other reasons, one thing can not be ignored: the bad weather in winter in Beijing.

The smog in Beijing has existed since ancient times.

According to the History of Yuan Dynasty, in the second year of A.D. (1329), it was cloudy and rainy, so it was difficult to see the sun, and pedestrians hid their faces.

In the sixth year of Yuan Dynasty (1340), the fog was locked, the sun was not seen for many days, and the wind was hidden behind closed doors, and the haze persisted.

The smog in the Forbidden City

In the Qing Dynasty, there was more smog. Although ancient smog and modern industrial pollution can't be compared, they are also slightly embryonic. Theoretically, their harm to human beings is similar. Beijing is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the smog is easy to gather and should not be scattered. As the political, cultural and economic center of the empire, the number of buildings is increasing, the population density is increasing, the air circulation is decreasing, and the upper class burns a lot of charcoal to keep warm in winter, so air pollution is inevitable.

Like Kangxi, Qianlong and Daoguang. They are old and want to breathe fresh and healthy air. Under the sky, the smog "moistens things silently", and finally it's worth closing your eyes and kicking, or born to die.
