After decades of efforts, today's temple buildings are magnificent, including the palace-style Hall of the Great Hero and the magnificent Hall of the King. This temple provides accommodation so that visitors can go to Phoenix Mountain to watch the sunrise or have a short retreat.
On the top of Muyu Mountain, directly opposite the memorial archway of Zen Temple, there is a newly-built bronze Buddha statue in the world, called the Tiantan Giant Buddha. The statue was designed and produced by China Aerospace Science and Technology Department, with a total height of nearly 34 meters. It is a combination of religious art and cutting-edge technology. The base of the giant Buddha has three floors, including exhibition halls. There is a big clock with Buddha statues and scriptures engraved on it. The clock is controlled by the computer, and it strikes once every seven minutes, *** 108 times, in order to "relieve 108 kinds of troubles".
Taiao
Tai O has the reputation of "Venice of Hong Kong". Tai O is located on an outlying island, far away from the bustling urban area, and is less affected by urbanization, so it still retains the early fishing village style of Hong Kong. Tai O has beautiful scenery, and the elevated cabin on the waterway is the residence of fishermen. Rivers and streams are interspersed in rows of ancient shack buildings, setting off a unique fishing village.
Tai O is famous for its traditional salted fish, shrimp paste and fish belly. When you set foot in Tai O, tourists will feel the strong seafood flavor.
There used to be a cross-water ferry between Tai O and Lantau Island, which was one of the characteristics of Tai O, but it has been cancelled now.
