Jilin rime, Guilin landscape, Yunnan Shilin and the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River are also called the four natural wonders of China. Rime is not snow or ice, but frost hanging on the branches. To see the rime in Jilin, there are two places worth recommending, one is rime island in Songhua River, and the other is Shili rime in Changbai Mountain.

The best place to see rime is rime island in the lower reaches of Songhua River. Rime island is nearly 40 kilometers away from Jilin City, with lower terrain than Jilin City, surrounded by rivers, where cold and hot air meet. The fog rising in winter often covers this small island of nearly 6 square kilometers, and sometimes the sun is not seen for a day. In this weather, the rime hanging on the tree will not fall off, and another layer will be hung at night.

Zengtongtun on the island is the best place to enjoy rime, and there is a saying that "the rime is rewarded to increase traffic". Zeng Tongtun has a strange tree shape. The weeping willows along the river are full of white and glittering frost flowers, and the river wind blows silver. The world is white, like a fairyland forgotten by the world. To watch the rime, it is important to watch the fog at night, watch the hanging in the morning and enjoy the falling flowers until nearly noon. "Watching the hanging in the morning" means getting up early to watch the tree hanging, and watching those thousand-year-old elms turn silvery white overnight, with jade branches hanging down and clusters of pine needles like blooming silver chrysanthemums, crystal clear. And "Stay until noon to enjoy the falling flowers", usually around 10 in the morning, the tree hangs begin to fall off one by one, and then a string of them falls off. Silver flakes falling in the breeze are flying in the air, and the bright sunshine shines on them, forming colorful snow curtains in the air.

Remember the scene in the TV series Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain? Does the snowfield of Changbai Mountain make you full of yearning? In this white world of ice and snow, dozens of hot springs in Changbai Mountain gurgled out of the ground and smoked like a fairyland. At night, soaking in steaming hot spring water, looking up at the stars and feeling the tranquility and silence of the snow-capped mountains is simply better than the life of the gods.

The rime in Changbai Mountain is unique. You don't need to take risks. The rime there can be seen all winter, stretching for dozens of miles, which makes you amazed. Snow willows on the river bank, Yushu Qionghua, tourists step into them and still enter the fairyland. Especially in the cold days around the year before last, the rime trees hanging in Changbai Mountain are the most spectacular and magical. And the rime and ice and snow festival in January every year is even more windy and foggy, the river is cold and warm, the snow willows shake the forest, and the Qionghua is in full bloom.
