What is the life habit of cotton moth?

It has four generations a year in Huangyan, Zhejiang, and overwinters with pupae and larvae in the plants or weeds of Stephania tetrandra in lee and sunshine in Wuchang, Hubei. The overwintering generation in Huangyan area ended in mid-June, with the first generation from early June to mid-July, the second generation from early July to late September and the third generation from mid-June to early February 10. Adults mostly occur from mid-September to 10, and can lay eggs continuously until early February of 10. The eggs are mostly scattered on the upper leaves or tender stems of Stephania tetrandra near the orchard in the lee and the sun. The peak of adults in South China is in the middle and late September. Larvae move quickly and have the habit of spinning and drooping. During the day, most of them lie on the tender leaves at the top of the shaded Stephania tetrandra and eat into a net. After three years of age, they eat plants, eat leaves into nicks, and even eat whole leaves. When ripe, the leaves are pruned in the grass near the base of Stephania tetrandra to form thin cocoons and pupae. Adults fly into orchards after dark. They like to eat good fruits. In Wuchang, there are four peak periods of adult occurrence, and the fourth peak period is from late September to mid-10. Adults are scattered in the weeds near the orchard during the day and rest at night. They have certain phototaxis, chemotaxis and suspended animation, and like fragrant and sweet and sour food. In Guangdong, people fly into the park from the outside shortly after dark, and they are most active from 20: 00 pm to midnight in the warm weather with a slight southerly wind.
