Temperate climate type

The main types of temperate climate are temperate maritime climate, temperate monsoon climate, temperate continental climate, subtropical monsoon climate and Mediterranean climate.

Temperate zone, the concept of climatology, refers to the climate zone between subtropical zone and polar zone. Temperate zone can be divided into broad sense and narrow sense. Broadly speaking, all areas except cold zone and tropical zone belong to temperate zone, so subtropical zone and sub-cold zone belong to the category of generalized temperate zone; Temperate zone in a narrow sense does not include subtropical zone and sub-frigid zone.

Temperate zone is located in the mid-latitude area, with large temperature difference between north and south and great climate difference. Such a large area of temperate zone is quite different from the actual climate characteristics. Therefore, the generalized temperate zone includes subtropical zone, warm temperate zone, middle temperate zone, cold temperate zone and sub-cold zone; Narrow temperate zone is generally divided into three zones, namely warm temperate zone, middle temperate zone and cold temperate zone.

Temperate cyclone:

The extratropical cyclone is an elliptical air vortex that appears in the middle and high latitudes and the central pressure is lower than the surrounding area. It is one of the important weather systems that affect large-scale weather changes. The average diameter of extratropical cyclones is 1000 km, ranging from several hundred km to over 3,000 km. Cyclone moves eastward with the airflow to the west of high altitude, with a warm front in front and a cold front behind. The south side of the fluctuation between them is a warm area.

The whole life cycle of extratropical cyclones from generation, development to extinction is generally 2-6 days, and sometimes 2-5 extratropical cyclones are formed one after another on the same front, and they advance from west to east in turn, which is called cyclone family. Temperate cyclones have an important influence on the weather changes in middle and high latitudes. Rainy weather, sometimes accompanied by heavy rain or strong convective weather, sometimes the maximum wind force near the ground can reach more than 10.
