Go to Niagara Falls.
When I traveled in the eastern United States a few years ago, Niagara Falls was the most anticipated attraction in my trip. It is the largest transnational waterfall in the world. It is located on the Niagara River bordering Ontario, Canada, and it is half a day's drive from Corning Glass Museum which I just visited.
On our way to the tourist bus of Niagara Falls, I enjoyed the rural scenery along the way through the window.
What constantly catches your eye are those unique and newly renovated farmhouses. From the appearance, compared with the villas in urban rich areas, they are not only inferior to the houses themselves, but also more scattered because each household occupies more surrounding green space and houses are flexibly built according to the terrain. I looked at hundreds of farmhouses passing by the roadside with great interest and found that they were all similar. ?
What is the mode of production of American farmers? I saw that in rural areas, except forests, it is cultivated land, and farmers' large-scale agricultural machinery works on a large area of flat cultivated land; Plastic film greenhouses can be seen in some places.
There are antique agricultural goods stores near the village; There is also an agricultural product processing factory near the field to realize the docking of rural product output and urban consumption input. ?
A little tired of the noise of the city, my heart was suddenly taken away by this quiet, earthy country.
In the afternoon, when our bus was approaching the destination, I found that the population in the surrounding areas was also dense, and small towns with concentrated houses appeared. Houses in towns and villages look good in texture and beautiful in appearance.
Some small commercial facilities in the town are also very eye-catching. For example, an Italian restaurant looks like a red brick castle with Italian and American flags in front. It is located in the middle of rows of white houses and is very eye-catching.
But the messy wires in the town ruined the scenery! These old transmission lines seem to remind people of the street view a hundred years ago. Later, I was not surprised to hear on TV news that the transmission equipment in the United States frequently broke down due to aging, which led to the blackout of residents' lives.
In the evening, we arrived at a hotel in Niagara Falls. The hotel is only a ten-minute walk from Niagara Falls Park. After we checked in, we couldn't wait to walk through the park to niagara river. This is the upper reaches of the waterfall, and the river is not swift. Like thousands of rivers in Qian Qian, it flows slowly forward. Its extraordinary course is that when it flows over the cliffs, it flies down without hesitation, showing its potential power in the roar. Then slowly flow forward and return to the ordinary.
Canada also built a Niagara Falls city with the same name on the other side of the waterfall. The two cities of America and Canada face each other across the river and are connected by a famous steel arch bridge-Rainbow Bridge.
Niagara Falls consists of Horseshoe Falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. Horseshoe Waterfall, named after its horseshoe shape, is located in Canada. American Waterfalls are in the United States, separated by Goat Island; Wedding waterfall is a stream next to the American waterfall. In fact, you can only see one side of Niagara Falls in the United States, but you can see the whole picture in Canada. Therefore, Queen Victoria Park, as the best viewing point of the waterfall, has set up watchtowers, giant searchlights and other viewing facilities on the other side of the river in Canada.
As night falls, the water in the waterfall becomes dim. Several giant spotlights on the other side suddenly burst on, and the bright beam shone on the gray waterfall, making it suddenly shine like a glittering and translucent giant jade. With the change of light color, the water color changes from white to light red, light blue and green in turn, showing a colorful magical scene. The pervasion of water vapor made the whole waterfall soak in a foggy dream. When night falls, there is a fireworks show over Niagara Falls. Fireworks in the sky compete with each other, sometimes flying like butterflies, sometimes blooming like flowers, and sometimes falling like meteors. The beautiful scenery in the air and water complement each other.
Visitors from all over the world, whether standing on one side of the river or the other, enjoyed a visual feast with the same satisfaction.
The next morning, the weather was fine. A long and big rainbow appeared in the sky, just like a dragon flying from the river. Everyone was attracted by this magnificent meteorological wonder and went to the river to watch and take pictures.
Then we visited other landscapes in Great Falls Park. There is a bronze statue of physicist nikola tesla in the park. Nikola tesla devoted himself to scientific research all his life, obtained more than 700 invention patents, and made outstanding achievements in AC system, X-ray research, wireless energy transmission, wireless remote control technology and other fields. The unit of magnetic density in electromagnetism is named after him; Musk's well-known electric car and energy company is also named after him. As a contemporary inventor of Edison, his AC system had a fierce competition with Edison's previous DC system, and he finally became the winner of the "current war". Since then, he has obtained the right to contract the power design of Niagara Hydropower Station. In the design, the alternating current production and transmission technology, including his nine patented inventions, is adopted to realize long-distance power supply with high voltage electricity.
Tesla's brilliant and passionate life has been dedicated to his beloved scientific career. Although he was admired by many celebrities and worshipped by a large number of celebrities, he died alone in new york Hotel on 194317 October at the age of 86, because he had never been married.
Then, we went to the screening hall of the Park Museum to watch the information film of Niagara Falls, and learned about the tenacious struggle of the aborigines around the falls for survival and development in the face of the great power of nature since ancient times. One of the scenes impressed me deeply: an elderly woman got into a wooden bucket with a quilt inside, covered it, pumped enough air for a short time with a water pump, and sealed the air holes. Then, people put the wooden bucket on the upstream of the waterfall, and the rushing water carried the wooden bucket down from the waterfall more than 50 meters high. Finally, the old woman became the first person to successfully drift Niagara Falls with equipment.
The heroic feat of the old woman's exploration touched me. I think exploration should be based not only on curiosity, but also on the spirit of self-sacrifice. Once the spirit of self-sacrifice becomes a sentiment respected by society, it can promote the great progress of human civilization. And every practitioner of the spirit of self-sacrifice can make his limited life more brilliant!
After watching the expansion, we went to the dock by boat to see the waterfall. We walked down the winding steps and headed for the sightseeing boat dock. Before boarding, everyone was given a transparent blue raincoat. We took the famous cruise ship Maiden of Fog, which started operation from 1846.
The cruise ship first sailed to the American Falls. There is little water in the American waterfall and the bridal veil waterfall next to it. The cliff at the waterfall is irregular in shape and there are countless huge rocks at the bottom. Therefore, when the water falls in the form of a vortex, the surrounding waves splash and fog.
Then the cruise ship slowly turned to horseshoe waterfall. Horseshoe Falls account for more than 90% of Niagara Falls, so you can hear its roar and feel its majesty from a distance.
When approaching the waterfall, the cruise ship was shrouded in huge water mist. The tourists' trousers and shoes were also soaked quickly.
When the cruise ship was as close as possible to horseshoe waterfall, I saw the waterfall falling from the sky through the water mist and heard the deafening sound of water. I quickly took pictures and recorded the spectacular moment when the stormy waves and fog washed away the noise between man and nature.
After the cruise ship returned to the dock, I took the elevator to the watchtower. I took a panoramic picture of Niagara Falls on the watchtower.
Niagara river is endless, and the magnificent scenery of Niagara Falls will continue to exist for thousands of years, but a drop of water in the long river can only irreversibly experience a short moment of each process. Each of us lives like a drop of water in a long river. I hope that when we are dying, we can satisfactorily recall every good time in our lives that has not been wasted!
