What month is suitable for going to Shaxi Ancient Town?

Shaxi ancient town is suitable for going from February to May, and the weather is quiet and simple. On the eighth day of the second lunar month, there is a prince's meeting, which is the biggest festival in Shaxi. In summer and rainy season, the road conditions are not good and there are many tourists.

The tourist route passes Yujin Bridge, an ancient stone bridge on the Heihui River. After walking along the ancient road for about 100 meters, it reaches Dongzhaimen, which the villagers call "Jiezimen". This Zhaimen is made of adobe, and only two horses are allowed to pass at the same time, retaining the original appearance of Zhaimen on the ancient tea-horse road.

Further inside, you will reach the Fourth Street, which is the only surviving market on the ancient tea-horse road and the center of Shaxi ancient town. The whole street is paved with red sandstone slabs, and there is an ancient stage facing east and Xingjiao Temple facing east in the east. The two echo each other from afar, dividing Sifang Street into two parts, with shops and horse shops all over the streets, and three Gu Xiang extending to all directions of the ancient town.

Accommodation and dining Shaxi ancient town is small and can be visited in an hour or two. However, if you have enough time, it is recommended to stay here for one night, wander around the old streets at will, and slowly enjoy the quiet and comfort that Dali ancient town does not have.

There are youth hostels and various inns in the ancient town, and the prices are relatively affordable. Roadside shops can solve the problem of dining, and there are local specialties such as ginseng seeds, pine mushrooms and milk cakes to choose from.
