Fuping County is located in the transition zone between the northern Guanzhong Plain in Shaanxi Province and the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi Province, belonging to the gully region of the Loess Plateau in northern Weibei, with a total land area of 1.233 square kilometers. The county is located between east longitude108 57'-109 26' and north latitude 34 42'-35 06'. It is 48km long from north to south and 35km wide from east to west, bordering Pucheng and Weinan in the east, yanliang district in Xi in the south, Yaozhou District in Tongchuan in the west and Yaozhou District in the north.
