Ningbo Qiantong Ancient Town Tourist Attraction

Introduction to Qiantong Ancient Town on December 12, 2021

Qiantong Ancient Town is located 14 kilometers southwest of Ninghai County. A piece of old houses and streets from the Ming and Qing Dynasties became known to the world because of Chen Yifei's movie "The Barber". Compared with Zhouzhuang and Wuzhen, the scenery here is more primitive and there are almost no commercial entertainment projects. It is more suitable for walking around and taking photos.

The ancient town still retains the old-fashioned wooden structure and tile-roofed houses, and some villagers still live in the town. The folk customs are simple and the environment is quiet. The trails are all paved with cobblestones and are very neat and clean. It is very necessary to wear comfortable shoes when visiting. A canal circles the village. Women can be seen washing clothes and children playing by the canal. Walking on the small roads of the ancient town, when the weather is nice, you can see many old people sitting together chatting and sunbathing, quietly and peacefully. There is no too much decoration here, no city noise, more relaxation.

The entire ancient town is not large, and it takes basically 2 hours to walk around. At present, the main tourist attractions in the town include Zushiqiju, Mingjing Hall, Folk Museum, Tong's Ancestral Hall, Qunfeng Wat and the filming location of "The Barber". You can go to Zhongsi Qiju to see the typical Taizhou-style courtyard house, which was once the predecessor of Qiantong Primary School. Go to the Folk Museum to see the daily life, agricultural tools and folk handicrafts used by the villagers here. The most important thing is the filming location of "The Barber". This was once the main location for Chen Yifei's filming. If you have time and are interested, you can watch "The Barber" at the nearby Yifei Cinema and reminisce about the scenes in the play. You can follow the signs, walk slowly, and enjoy every attraction.
