There is a wide sky in the sea near Dalian. What kind of phenomenon is this?

There is fog on the sea, islands are looming in the distance, seagulls shuttle through the fog, just like a fairyland ... "Haihao" landscape appears in the waters of Donggang and Fujiazhuang. Experts say that this phenomenon is related to the sudden drop in temperature. "Haihao" is called "evaporation fog" in meteorology, which is a weather phenomenon under special weather conditions and occurs on the unfrozen water surface in cold winter.

In winter, the temperature of sea water is actually higher than that of land. Haihao is essentially an evaporation fog, that is, when dry cold air passes through the sea surface, the sea surface itself is relatively warm, so cold and warm meet, which leads to the rapid evaporation of water vapor on the water surface and then quickly condenses into fog.

In recent years, there have been many "Hai Hao" wonders in Fujiazhuang, Cao Shi and other sea areas in our city. Liu Yuling, a senior engineer at Dalian Ocean Forecasting Station, said that the phenomenon of "Hai Hao" needs two conditions: temperature difference and condensation. The water temperature in the sea area around Dalian is about 10℃, and the temperature is MINUS ten degrees, with a difference of more than 20 degrees Celsius. The temperature of seawater is higher than that of air. Seawater evaporates into water vapor and condenses quickly when it meets cold air, so there is a phenomenon of "sea Hao".

In fact, the reason is basically the same as white smoke when we boil water, which is caused by high water temperature and low temperature. The higher the water temperature, the easier it is for water vapor to evaporate. Therefore, when boiling water, the temperature of hot water at 100℃ is much higher than that of the air above it, so when water vapor enters the air, it will encounter cold and quickly condense into small water droplets, which is the reason why white fog appears when boiling water.

This phenomenon is very common in winter in the north, and it may occur as long as there is a rapid cooling weather. Some time ago, Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain also appeared, and the lake boiled like a pot.

In nature, water vapor will also evaporate in oceans, lakes, rivers and other waters, as well as in some forests or wet soil. In the process of rising in the air, small water droplets or small ice crystals will form when it is cold, white fog will appear near the ground, and clouds will appear at high altitude.
