Longtan Mountain stands on the east bank of Songhua River with quiet scenery and lush trees, covering the whole mountain.

Longtan Mountain is located in the east of Jilin City and west of Songhua River, covering an area of 202 hectares. The highest peak "Nantianmen" is 388.3m above sea level, with a relative height difference of194m. Also known as Longtan Water Prison (Lock Longjing), there are ancient city ruins, water prison * (Lock Longjing) and Lock Dragon Dry Prison, as well as ancient buildings such as Longfeng Temple, Longwang Temple and Guandi Temple built in Qing Dynasty, which are provincial-level cultural relics protection units.

Tourism characteristics

Longtan Mountain, Zhuque Mountain, Xuantianling Mountain and Xiaobaishan are collectively called the four famous mountains in Jilin. It has beautiful scenery and is a tourist attraction. Longtan Mountain is named after a beautiful pool named Longtan at the foot of the northwest corner mountain. Longtan is about 53 meters long, 26 meters wide and 9 meters deep. The bright moon is in the sky, and the reflection in the lake is rippling. What makes people linger is "Longtan Yin Yue". Also known as Longtan Water Prison, it is said that a dragon was locked at the bottom of the pool in ancient times and chained to a big tree by the pool. When someone pulls the chain, the clouds immediately change color and the pool churns.

There is an ancient birch tree in the southeast of the pool, which is 30 meters high. They can't hold each other up, they are lofty and straightforward. Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty visited the north and named it "Shenshu". There are ancient buildings such as Longwang Temple, Guandi Temple and Longfeng Temple nearby. You can go and have a look. There is an ancient Koguryo city at the top of Longtan Mountain, with a wall height of10m, a base width of10m and a circumference of 2,400m. This is a magnificent military castle in ancient times. Condescending, there is a tendency of "and one person keeps it, and ten thousand people can't force it". There are platforms in every corner of the ancient city, and the south platform is the highest, commonly known as Nantianmen. Sitting on it, you can see a panoramic view of all the scenic spots in Jilin city.

Longtan, located at the lowest point in the northwest corner of Longtan Mountain, is also called "water dungeon" (a kind of Lock Longjing). According to textual research, it was a reserve reservoir built by soldiers guarding the mountain city in the Koguryo era (also known as the Liao and Jin Dynasties) using mountain springs. The pool is 52.8 meters long from east to west, 25.75 meters wide from north to south, 9.08 meters deep and dark blue. The four walls are made of neat rectangular granite. Whether the weather is wet or dry, the water level has not changed much, and it has never dried up after countless winters and summers. There is a Tan Fang in front of Longtan. 189 1 year (in the 17th year of Guangxu), a plaque inscribed by Jing Zong, the Qing emperor, was hung. The pool in the middle is shadowy and ethereal, and the trees around it are quiet. It has the reputation of "Longtan Yin Yue" and is one of the eight famous scenic spots in Jilin Province. Longtan Mountain has been developed into Longtan Mountain Ruins Park.
